HARVARD TRANSFER Fall2010

I’m not sure if a regional rep decides. I think its a totally different committee?

Hey gihuerta: good luck on your interview. Try to be your I guess, and make sure you know your application in and out because that is what the person interviewing you would know. You might also want to take a resume with you. More importantly, KNOW why you want to go there! I guess you already know this, but I just felt like saying it again.

Melonbread91: They called you. wow, that’s pretty cool. I guess they are interested in you then.

I know you still have a chance without the interview, but I can’t help it, I want one too!
Good luck to everyone with interviews, make sure you rock it.

a lot of new threads are updated and this one is now on page 3!

But that’s easily fixed. –>Bump.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! We should know the 2014 yield quite soon…

/now that we know that the number of apps is fixed at just over 500, the bit of news about 35 transfers up from 10-20 is really nice!

I think its 25 transfers

If they accept 35 from 500 that is pretty good…Dartmouth only accepted fewer than 4% of the transfer applicants this time…so we might see this time that Dartmouth went lower than Harvard!

25 maybe…or around 20

where did you guys get these numbers from? are they official or just guesstimates?

How do you request an early notification? I was accepted to UVa, which requires a decision by May 15th. I would go to Harvard if accepted, but should I tell them that I need to know early so I can commit to UVa if not accepted? Also, will it help to tell them that I will enroll if accepted? When should I request it? By email or phone?

^ Calling them would be better i guess

yeah that is kind of what I was planning on doing. What do I say though? Do I tell that it is my top choice and I will enroll if accepted, or do I just say I need to hear before the 15th because that is UVa’s deadline?

^ I think you can say both…it would be a legitimate way to flatter them…lol

i’m really nervous, i’m hearing from penn, columbia and harvard most likely next week and i’m trying to see how i can pay to go to any of these schools…i get no financial aid because my greencard is still being processed.

glad i don’t live in arizona :D

I have a full-ride.

*If I get accepted

If Harvard is still scheduling interviews as of May 4 (albeit for an international applicant), what makes everyone so sure the decisions are really going to be out around May 15 rather than “early June” as Harvard’s website says?

Hi all.
I never received an email that says when decisions are going to be mailed out. How did you guys find out? I know that someone here claims that they called, but they could be wrong. Is there anyone here that has received an email saying the official date?
HH

harvardhop: the only emails I got were the confirmation that they received the application, in late March, and then the emails from the alumni regional director and alum interviewer in early April to set up the interview. None of these said anything about the official decision release date. That is why I don’t understand why people on this thread seem so confident that decisions will be out around May 15 or 17th.

same. i just got the application receipt.

to everyone: what’s your reaction going to be if you get in? after crying a bit, i’ll go buy myself a couple rounds of shots =)

lol @ melon bread. I would do backflips across my current college campus, honestly, and then go and celebrate.
