Is the decision e-mail going to sent in mid-May? or June 1? The website states the latter but it seems decisions were made in mid-May before 2007

This thread makes me so jealous

Good luck everyone!

@linala: uhh, i don’t think we have anyone on this thread that qualified to write that here in 2 months. at least i didn’t have to pay the app fee. at least they print their consolation letter on nice paper.

melonbread, you’re killin’ my optimism, dear.

killing mine too …

I submitted my supplement at like 12:10. It says submitted 3/16. FAIL haha.

Let’s create a list of everyone applying:

htransfer–Junior transfer, GPA: 3.85

junior transfer
college: one of the top 10 schools in us news
college gpa: 4.0/4.0
sat: 2320
hs gpa: 4.0/4.0 UW
hs EC: good enough to get me into a few ivies and equivalents, but definitely not HYMPS material
college EC: nothing much

Well I applied to Harvard for transfer but there is no room for optimism left with the Crimson article saying that they intend to accept 10-20 students. I hope it better be 20 rather than 10. My reason for transfer is that I want to work in the financial services industry and it is pretty hard to break into without being at a top 10 school. Harvard has the best recruitment for these jobs plus I wanted to apply to THE HARVARD COLLEGE as a high school senior but couldn’t apply then so I am applying now. It is one of those things for me now that you’ll regret if you don’t do in your lifetime.

Looks like great stats originpranks
SSK- I too hope it would be 20 though its still too competitive

pranks you are a lock to be in. What would your major be at Harvard/why are you transferring? Anyone else?

Additionally, how important do you think Teacher Rec’s are in this process for Harvard?

they say in the website Recommendations are pretty important but I am not sure I think essays/stats are as important

How much did u guys write for the academic plan outline, alternatives to harvard, career goals, etc? I wrote like 1 sentence answers.

career goals and acamdemic plan outline I wrote like whole essays? Alternatives I just wrote a sentence though.

It doesn’t even matter for me, though. I just re-chcked my print preview on the universal app and EVERYTHING is all messed up. Essays have been cut-off, there’s weird parts of my essays moved around. I swear, it looked fine when I print previewed it an submitted it. Has anyone re-check theirs? :(

PS. I never got any confirmation email from the universal app system? Did you guys? I’m starting to think that universalapp just like screwed up my application?

Were we supposed to get a confirmation e-mail from universal app??

htransfer- I said i will major in econ and minor in east asian studies if possible. the biggest reason that i’m transfering is because i wanted a place with great east asian studies dpt…and honestly, i doubt i have a solid chance tho.
johnchoee- i wrote like a paragraph (100~150 words) or two for those, except for the alternative one, which was basically 2,3 sentences.
I didn’t get a confirmation e-mail from universal app either so I doubt they send those out

originpranks- frankly I too applied because of EAS program. Does your school have weak EAS dept?

hconfidential- I’m not sure if I should call it “weak,” but most east asian studies courses here are history/philosophy/cultural anthro courses and I wanted more econ and other social sciences courses.
