omg did you just get an email???

are you for real? give us an email excerpt?

bumpppppppppp

It’s too early for jokes and too early for my mind to be clear enough to accept truth. Hence, I shall return after I’ve had my morning omelet at the cafeteria…

A thousand times good luck to all.

let’s just found our own college/french revolutionary-esque salon and call is blarvard.

19921992: Not necessarily. They may well be telling the truth. Yale sent out their acceptances a while before their rejections, so it’s not hard to imagine that Harvard would do something similar. In any case I wouldn’t worry about it. Getting into Harvard is about as likely for anyone here, myself included, as winning the lottery. If it happens, great. If not, then it’s not a huge loss.

@HARVARDTRANSFER is a loyal and clear-minded poster on this forum… i’m started to believe he/she may have actually gotten accepted. fing s!

@tsakashvili

while what you’re saying is true…the yale kids who were rejected started to find out around 1130am. now if your observation is that harvard is following the example set by yale, this is certainly an apparent deviation. not to mention, it’s somewhat suspicious to just post “im in! ah” without anything else. also, there has been no return to the threads by harvardtransfer.

but of course, it is definitely possible. at this point, however, id say improbable.

i’ve been a “loyal and clear-minded” poster as well, but i assure you it would have been very easy for me to type “IM IN OMG OMG OMG” instead of the aforementioned.

just to clarify: decisions come out today: May 14th?

@htransfer - according to a woman from their admissions office, yes

Did she say if decisions have already been released?

i’m sorry for the misunderstanding - i was referring to a previous post in which a woman from the admissions office told @wellnow that decisions would be released on may 14th both by email and snail mail. i did not personally talk to anyone from admissions.

@19921992, I was just wondering, how u so sure about 5pm for email decisions?

OMG – i just received my email at 4:01. I was accepted! OMG

For the skeptics:

Dear XXX,

I am delighted to inform you that the Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid has voted to offer you admission as a transfer student beginning in the Fall Term, 2010. Please accept my personal congratulations for your outstanding achievements.

This year over six hundred students applied for the twelve places available for transfer students. With many more talented and highly qualified candidates than it has room to admit, the Admissions Committee takes great care to choose individuals who present extraordinary academic, extracurricular, and personal strengths. The Committee is convinced that with your outstanding qualities of mind and character you will make meaningful contributions in college and to society.

…

CONGRATS @wellnow!!!

rejected. HOYA SAXA!

okay. bad news for me. it was nice dreaming with you guys. Congrats @ wellnow! I am going back to reality…haha bye all!

waitlisted…chances of getting off the waitlist are basically zero right?
crap. anything i could do to boost those chances at all?

Rejected. I honestly don’t care. I never expected to get in to Harvard, although I have to admit that I didn’t think the admission rate would be that low. Since I got into Penn, whether or not I get into another marginally better Ivy has become a moot point. I’d wish the people who were accepted good luck, but I think they already have all the luck in the world behind them given that they were 12 out of 600, so I shall instead simply wish them well.

Rejected .

Rejected also. I’m starting to think that if I re-apply next year I might apply to some other places as well… My school isn’t really doing it for me…and now I have a whole year just to focus on my gpa. delightful.
