Hi all. I have some questions about transfer. I’m applying to Harvard, but some of these may apply to other highly selective universities.
How do AP Exam Credits taken senior year factor into transfer application? Can I report AP Exam results alongside high school transcripts?
How do previous applications to Harvard via freshmen entry affect my transfer application? Will they look at my old application? If yes, will being rejected via freshmen entry cause them to look at my application differently?
How many courses do most successful transfer applicants have on their transcripts? I have a 4.0 GPA at an American, 4-year university, but I am worried it might not be enough.
You’re competing for about 15 seats among 1,500 applicants. Everyone applying probably has around a 3.9+. You need well defined academic reasons about why you need to transfer specifically to Harvard. Apply, but do not expect anything and consider more reasonable options.
^That’s to be expected. I have other options, but I’m still trying to research my top choice. Any input RE: my questions?
I know you can self report your AP tests on the common app, I don’t know how you would send an official report or if it’s marked on your HS transcript already.
I can’t find anything for Harvard about this.
Doesn’t matter as long as you aren’t taking below the minimum I guess?
Do transfer admissions superscore SAT?
I think it’s all the same as their first year applicant policies unless they specifically state. The ones I applied to that list my scores on the application portal all show:
