Harvard transfer interview??

I got a request for an interview from Harvard transfer. How much of a good thing is this? I considered myself a weak candidate so this is a surprise. Thanks

Did they call you? Where do you live? It might be an alum interview if you're far away. If not, I wonder how far they expect you to drive/fly.

Here's a thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=170137

I'm assuming you were not interviewed during your freshmen application or that you did not apply then. This can be taken as a good sign, however, I've heard that many of the transfer interviews are offered to applicants who haven't been interviewed before.

Make sure you wear the proper attire to the interview.

A 1993 Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Champs t-shirt and a pair of black ripped jean shorts will definitely catch the interviewer’s eye.

I recommend going in a gin soaked t-shirt that says "KISS ME I'M *****FACED"

Do you have to go to Harvard's campus?

If so, it's a very very serious thing. It isn't anything like freshman alumni interviews. This means that you're actually on the threshold and could get into Harvard if everything goes well.

Nervous? Good luck.

After stalking CC for two years, there is one thing I learned about Harvard Interview: It's a good thing. I distinctly remember those who were offered a transfer-interview were either accepted or waitlisted. There isn't one who was out right rejected. I don't know the procedure of the Harvard interview or what's the purpose; I'm only relying on CC's record.

Yo i m just wondering whether you got the message on postal or did you receive an email? God i m so jealous of you... Where do you live? are you an international applicant? Stats?

in addition to reddune's comment, my friend that applied to Harvard last year from my CC was offered an interview and then waitlisted, so that theory does sound good.

EBL,

What are your stats?

EBL have you recieved a call from your alumnus yet? Arent they supposed to call before April 23?

Thanks

I think alums are suppposed to call before 23rd according to an email from the office. My interviewer told me the write-up for interviews is due 26th. Interview is a good sign but result is unpredictable, he said.

Thanks for the response. I received an email saying that an alumnus in the area will call me and to let the Harvard Transfer office know ASAP if I have not been contacted by the 23rd. I have never applied anywhere besides my current institution.

such a weak applicant lol

Where do you go to school now?

Here's an interesting question: Is an interview really necessary if one of your letters of recommendation is from an alum?

Good question, both of my recs were from alumni as well

Your teachers went to Harvard ?

Yes they did, one I think taught there as well for a little bit. Both are very cool guys and I am very glad that I got to know them.

one of my rec is from a harvard alum...still asked me for an interview
