The first email, nope, don't remember. The email with the actual decision, however, came sometime in the afternoon -- between 12 and 3ish.

and it was sent on the 20th?

Yeah, the 20th. I just went through the archive from last year, and it was definitely the 20th.

I said the 18th earlier because martini said that it was that day, and not remembering exactly, I just took his word for it. But I thought that it was a little later than that...

So, let's see. The 20th was a Friday last year, indicating that it will, most likely, come on this Friday, the 19th. (Adcoms like to send it out right before they rush out of the office for the weekend).

I think the Harvard Transfer Admissions website has been recently updated. It used to say "Last year 75 students enrolled, from nearly 1,000 applicants." And now it says: "This year 75 students were admitted from over 1,000 applicants." Did anyone else notice this change? Here's a link to the website:

p.s: you know the transfer admissions process did not go well for you when harvard is your last hope...

Actually, I noticed the same thing this morning; the site must have been updated overnight.

hahah, I know exactly what you mean.

1) I seriously doubt they went in to change the wording so minutely, unless you are realllly sure that they did so (perhaps they went in to check whether the number was the same, and, discovering that it was, decided to merely change the language).

2) Yes I have a paper that is late also, lol, and may cause me to do poorly in a class, so I'm relying on one prof's forgiveness in that area. . . Suffice it to say, the admissions process alway has an adverse affect on other areas of my life. This is our time yo! Let's keep checking the sight/refreshing our in-boxes!

Guys, how often do you refresh your mailboxes? ;)
It seems to me that everyone deserves to get in, so good luck to everyone!

The admissions office says that decisions will be released "at the end of this week."

byul: you called the admissions office?

i noticed the change of the wording of the transfer home page as well, haha. Not sure if it changed overnight, but it definitely changed.

bnx: Yes, this morning.

Yeah so, my login thing stopped working. Woo, the excitement.

does anyone know the number of applicants this year? i know it is over 1000, but how much over.

Mine too, Janel. Too bad they won't set a specific deadline for themselves. Hmm, I guess it behooves us to let them make decisions on their own time, so that nothing is so rushed as to rob us of their benefit of a doubt (meaning if they have to make a snap decision, maybe it would hurt more than help) so I guess it's the waiting game . . . I suppose I'll take solace in the fact that decisions were released around the 18th last year, so by the end of this week we should definitely know something.

i have a pretty firm idea about my decision.

How so beechbum? Don't let doubt ruin things, it's not constructive in any sense of the word, and it only hurts you and no one else. Not to sound jaded, but you have to get used to rejection and adversity in life to find a way to be happy regardless of whether things work out well (Yea, easier said than done, but it's a thought anyway.)

oh i know..haha...im just tired of it all. ive just had a tough month with other things not college related.

i just wanted to say: Now ai' ain't sayin' she a gol' digga'!

qwpoeriuty: 1100 applicants

this is a kinda dumb quest, but will it be really stupid to send in extra stuff now? like tomorr morning at eight?
