@ThatapplicNt I’m not from India, actually. I’m from the Indian subcontinent. So I have no clue if an Indian received his/her interview. However, I think Pakistan and India are considered in different regions (because there are way more Indian applicants than probably from other south asian countries combined. So they are probably considered by a different committee than yours and mine)
Only 2 weeks left!
A 770/770, no. A 740/800, yes, but not meaningfully different. It is entirely probable that there will be applicants with some combination of these stats that will be accepted, and others that will be rejected. An application with a 1540 in any combination will warrant a serious read, but that’s just one part of the package.
@skieurope @MaybeHarvard2022 Thank you for your replies. So the admissions office regard you as an applicant from your home country and not the country you are currently residing in?
@fluffysimba That would be correct.
Just got a call from interviewer, interview scheduled for tomorrow (Northern California). Any suggestions? It seems pretty late to me.
Could me the interview will be relatively more important
for you. Good luck!
@nekanorneki @ThatapplicNt I’m an applicant from South Asia (India). Had my interview and know two others who did too.
@SouvlakiHotelFoxtrot when did you have your interview? And when did those other people have theirs (if you have any idea)? And was it an alumni interview or with admission officer?
(Thanks for sharing)
@nekaorneki Had it a few days back, everyone I know had it with an alum around the same time.
So I was just looking over my application and realized for one of the “other information” questions when it asked for the dates I lived in certain areas, I forgot to change the “idk” to the actual dates I lived in that area. Will this affect my admission? I feel sick to my stomach it was such a stupid mistake.
@SouvlakiHotelFoxtrot - did you get a call from the Admissions Office or an email?
@goodboi1 where are you from and did anyone from your region get an interview?
India and idk
Got a call, but don’t worry about having missed it or anything I’m pretty sure they do everything they can to get in touch with you. Plus they have your parents’ numbers and stuff as well so if they have to contact you I’m sure they’ll get through to you.
@skieurope Till when do you think we (the uninterviewed international fellows) have the chance to receive the interview? And in places where alumni interview have been taken in the past, do you think unavailability of alumni could be a reason that we didn’t receive the interview by now?
@Ivy2022 lolololol that’s actually so funny. I doubt it though. Kinda reminds me of the kid a few years ago who accidentally put “clam fart” as an EC and still got into Yale.
Well, sorta correct.
Yes, you are considered an applicant from your home country, but your application would be read by the AO handling the region in which you are attending HS, if different from your home country.
