Harvard University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

@MaybeHarvard2022 Yeah you’re probably right. Someone I know just tried it and they saw something for the admitted student’s website, but it’s all up in the air at this point.

@Ivy2022 Aahhh I’m sorry to hear that, but yeah at least we are not alone in this. Good luck! I hope we make it…

@crimsondream22 Likewise to you!! I really hope so too ahHh

@crimsondream22 It’s not too long, but it feels like forever :// they’ve clearly thought everything through. I wonder if the admitted students thing is visible on everyone’s bc it wasn’t mentioned before, so who knows? anywho good luck!!

Someone make the results thread today or tomorrow. And please everyone that has been posting on here post on the results thread when decisions are released so future applicants can have something to reference.

I did it for y’all you superstitious noodles

@ski_racer Montana! Do you know how many peeps from Idaho usually apply vs are admitted?

@ski_racer Can you post one with this format? It’s been the norm for years now http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1939648-harvard-class-of-2021-scea-results-only-thread.html

@ski_racer AH sorry man I looked at the thread before you edited it

I’ve been so superstitious for the past week. I can’t even think about the possibility of myself getting in without being certain that I’ve jinxed myself by simply imagining that something that amazing could happen. Only two more days of this horrible anxiety! Wishing everyone the absolute best results.

@mtnhightara That’s actually a statistic I’m really interested in–I want to know how the acceptance rate for low population density states compares to the national acceptance rate, especially since colleges seem to like bragging about having students from all 50 states. It seems like, all other things equal, the Idaho acceptance rate would be higher than the California or New York acceptance rate, but that’s all just speculation. Last year I know of one kid who was accepted to Harvard, and he made national headlines because he got into all 8 Ivies. The year before there was also only one that I know of. This year, I know of one person who is applying, but I also try not to talk about college applications so my perspective is probably skewed.

@ski_racer would you also mind changing the name to Harvard class of 2022 SCEA results to differentiate from RD

@MaybeHarvard2022 Personally, I don’t see the need for 2 results threads. It’s also too late, and you all could’ve done it yourself if you’re gonna be picky.

I prefer to be called a lasagna, not a noodle, but okay, @ski_racer

Thanks for making the thread for us!

I’ll add that one to my repertoire @habitualnerd right next to “Who peed in your cereal?”

@ski_racer The interviewer said that about 20 kids from MT apply every year and about 5 get in. So, I’m hoping that makes my chances 25% instead of 6% - ha ha!

@mtnhightara I live for numbers so I really wish that there was a whole table of stats like that publicly available. Oh well.

@ski_racer. I agree. We can often figure out the demographics of the admitted classes through published info, but not so much the demographics of the applicant pool. Didn’t one of the kids who got into all 8 Ivies come from North Dakota? I also noticed that the only state Princeton did not have new student from for its 2021 class was actually Montana, so I’m applying there too hoping they want to make up for it this year

@mtnhightara All this secrecy ughhh. I’m also applying to Princeton, mostly because I’m a legacy and I liked their app questions.

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

Well, I edited the title.
