@habitualnerd my guess would be they have a technical issue or something. I think harvard comittee is unlikely to make final decisions in those last couple of hours. Anyway, we will never know that. What matters to us is that we have 2 more hours to wait
@ski_racer For your information, I have NEVER EVER EVER procrastinated on a project. NEVER. ;D
But on a serious note, thanks for pointing that out. Forgot about data entry.
DOES ANYONE HAVE a lot of “Miscellaneous” and “Academic Work” listed in their applicant portal upload section? Mine says Miscellaneous once, and two academic works. I assume the miscellaneous refers to either the alumni interview report in my file, or the actual admissions decision. The two academic works, however, are??? One is likely the supplemental essay, but what may the other one be? Not common app or transcripts or anything?? I also have not uploaded or submitted any work either. Any guesses?
In my upload section, I have “academic work” and the date matches the date that my GC said he sent in my Q1 grades. Never got an interview so that may be your “miscellaneous.”
As has been stated before, the interview does NOT show up in the portal. Confirmed this with admissions. Also, the supplemental essay doesn’t appear in the portal either.
Nothing like receiving the decision at 1AM rather than 11PM
No offense, asking this out of curiosity, but how do you know their location?
@Tomas1355 Well, try me. Mine went from 1:30 AM to 3:30 AM lol rip
On their website, they say “no earlier than 7PM ET.” Does that mean it could come out up to 5 hours later? And would we get an email?
No, it will come out at 7 PM Eastern.
@lukmore i figured that since literally millions of people live in istanbul i’d be fine with that username. yup turkey, but its a complicated story. good luck to you all. i’ve been lurking for a very very long time but you all seem like a pleasant bunch haha
@MaybeHarvard2022 @MrPotatoHead Maybe I’m not getting this right, since my english isn’t good enough, but I’d assume “no earlier than 7pm” means not earlier than 7pm, but possibly later. Am I wrong?
Why would they do this to us. Just why
@skieurope Guess who is incorrect by assuming? 30 minutes behind (from Iran) and username checking out with Istanbul seems like a way more valid reason to assume someone’s country than perhaps assuming their location via IP address, which I’m GUESSING might have been how you became so sure to tell me I was incorrect, but yeah, almost everyone uses VPNs these days, smh. And it turns out I was correct! The poster, in fact, lives in Turkey.
I really hope that the admission committee truly does have a careful and holistic approach to each applicant. There are so much hopes, fears, aspirations, and anxieties in this thread and, thus, in applications that any other but careful review for each applicant would be just soo unfair and sad
@crimsondream22 hahaha you are right @skieurope sorry about that vpns are the way to go in turkey and not get tracked down by HeWhoMustNotBeNamed
@1stanbu1 ikr, bc I’m pretty much in the same boat, except in Iran.
@1stanbu1 @crimsondream22 same with Russia
I find it just slightly strange that our IPs are being used against us on a casual forum like this… Maybe let’s just stick to the topic?
@jswani the topic is just very very scary hahahahahaha laughs and also breaks down emotionally
