He does anyone know if Harvard superstores the SAT across test dates? Because I can’t find a concrete and coherent answer online.
@VeritasFicta yes Harvard does superscore the SAT across test dates, as does every other Ivy and top-tier institution.
@MaybeHarvard2022 Okay that’s what I thought but I gave them three separate calls and they said they don’t each time, despite their website saying applicants are free to use Score Choice.
After we submit the Common App, we get access to the Admissions Portal. For how long thereafter are we allowed to add more stuff to our application?
Also, for those who are submitting supplementary materials, what is the deadline for it? Can’t be Nov 1st right?
Are EA applicants penalized in any way if they don’t submit by the Oct. 15 recommended deadline?
@asaltyattic Nope, I don’t think so because the deadline stated everywhere is Nov 1, and if Harvard really wanted it the EA applicants to submit by Oct 15 then the deadline would probably be October 15.
@asaltyattic Check out this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/1817318-harvard-early-action.html
No. Additionally, there is no advantage to sending by 10/15, other than getting it off your plate. It helps the AO’s get a start on organizing, but the deadline is 11/1.
Has anyone submitted yet?
I plan to submit by the 29th.
Woah how come I just found this thread? I’ve been looking for months haha but I’m applying to harvard scea too!
@Soccer1235 Welcome!! Where are you from?
My D has 3.93 uwGPA, 4.64 wGPA, 1520 SAT, 5 in 3 APs, 4 in 2 APs and 4 APs in the senior year. She is applying for Biology pre-med. Asian. What are her chances of getting in ?
@bsms2018 She has good stats but as an Asian applicant, especially in STEM, she has to have something that really stands out. Unless she has a super hook, Harvard is a high reach. Best of luck to her!
What exactly is the word limit for the writing supplement? It just asks for a google drive file or a file saved on your own computer so I wasn’t sure.
@yayaylearner I’m from ohio, pretty boring around where I live haha
@CS1211 I don’t think there is a word limit for the writing supplement, but I recommend just keeping it around the same size as the common app essay of 650, that’s what I’m doing.
Can I assume that admissions officers know what DECA, FBLA, HOSA, and other Career and Technical Student Organizations are to certain depths?
Yes, that is a valid assumption. Even for the more obscure (I can’t think of a good example), there’s always Google; no need to use 50 characters to spell out a 4 character acronym.
@skieurope Okay thanks!
