does anyone know how Harvard announces what the decision date will be? Is it via email or just posted on the portal?
@Dataminer No, this definitely isn’t true. I’m international and I know a couple people who got in under the early action program last year and the year before.
Question: Do outside recommendations (not teacher) show up on other people’s portal? All of mine were mailed, and I am worried, as they are not showing up on the portal.
Question: If I uploaded another supplemental material literally last night, is there a CHANCE they might review it?
@skirugby No they don’t show up on a portal. I submitted my supplemental rec through the common app and it was “downloaded” but it doesn’t show up on the portal.
@isicim012 Thank you so much for clarifying that, it’s very reassuring!
Do you know if most internationals admitted SCEA had major hooks (legacy, donors, etc.)?
@nijusohc Very unlikely.
do you guys think that the decisions have already been made?
@shehar17 nah I called them just now and theyre still reviewing but yes, some decisions have already been made. also @Arnkim I called them and they said if I uploaded anything, even if it’s after they reviewed my application, they’ll still review whatever I uploaded. Now you never know, that could just be their usual response, but one can hope lmao
You realize these 2 statements are slightly contradictory, right?
If your application has been reviewed, and a decision has been made, particularly if your application did not make it to final committee, that update will never see the light of day unless you’re deferred, IMO.
@skieurope I’m just relaying what the person who picked up my call said. she said if I upload something, it’ll give them a notification that I uploaded something, regardless of whether or not they’ve reviewed my application. She also said some decisions have already been made, but they’re still making the decisions. Bruh I’m not tryna play god here, I literally just typed what the person who answered my call told me
Is there any way one can get accepted EA without an interview?
@tiffsworld where do you live? Maybe there aren’t enough interviewers in your area?
In the DFW area; someone from my school supposedly got an interview but submitted his application later than me so I am not really sure what to think this late in the process.
I never had the option of an interview?
In general, if there are enough alumni in your area and you don’t get an interview is that a good sign or a bad sign? Like could it mean that your application is strong enough to gain acceptance, so you don’t need an interview? On the other hand, could it mean that your application is on the border of acceptance and deferral so you’re given an interview? @skieurope
@sarajayhawk Where do you live?
It shouldn’t matter. Interviews, according to them, isn’t what gets you in. A bad interview, however, can be a disadvantage. No interview at all shouldn’t matter either. Don’t worry too much about it, you got this
Given that he/she has ‘jayhawk’ in his/her username, I’d assume Kansas lmao
Any word on the date?
