Now do yourselves a favor, eat a piece of candy or cake or 50 this week, try to relax, buy the Harvard sweatshirt that can easily be burned later, tell your parents you love them and appreciate their support, parents tell your kids you trust them and support them always no matter what, work on those RDs if it helps, get a pedicure, and so on and so on…enjoy these last few days of what ifs! The world will not cease to exist Friday but it will be just a little different for every one of you.

Has anyone tried logging in to the Class of 2023 admitted students page?
@pappernich I could be a jerk and say yes and it brought me to a Harvard student only page and that will let you know if you got in early. But yes, people have tried. It just brings you to the admittance page. It means NOTHING.
My school counselour told me that he receive a call from Harvard asking for some aspects of my resume, could this be a good sign?
Story Time!
So my initial Harvard interviewer and I agreed to meet on Monday, December 3rd for the interview.
I’m in class during third period around 1:30 on Thursday, November 28th and I get an email from my interviewer telling me that the subcommittee for my area is meeting in Cambridge the next day and that they need to have all information including the interview report before giving ups and downs for candidates to move on to the full committee. So he says that I need to have my interview ASAP, like that afternoon, but he’s in Spain so can’t do it. Instead, he has reached out to another local alumnae who will interview me. She emails me a few minutes later and we agree to meet exactly an hour later at 2:30 at the nearby Starbucks. Definitely caught off guard but whatever, it’s probably for the best since I felt that December 3rd was kinda late anyway.
But at the same time I‘m like bruh… I’m not wearing my planned interview outfit and now I have a different interviewer I haven’t looked up and don’t know anything about. I had researched the initial interviewer and had a list of specific questions I was planning on asking him. Furthermore, I had found out his daughter is in the same engineering program at my high school so was looking forward to discussing engineering. Whatever, can’t win them all.
So I get out of class at 1:45 and rush home to change and brush my teeth and all that stuff. I’m on my way back to Starbucks and am literally 1 minutes away from the store when my engine starts making a weird noise. I’m like uhhhh… so I press on the gas pedal to keep going and I realize I’m only accelerating at about 1/4 of the speed I should be. So I turn off the road onto a side road and chill for a few seconds to see if things will change. At this point it is like 2:25, 5 min before we are supposed to meet. I decide to say screw it, I’ll just try and make it there and worry about this later. So I turn into this house’s driveway to make a 3 point turn and get back on the road. I put the car in reverse and push the gas pedal, but I don’t go anywhere. I’m like oh. My. God. This cannot be happening right now.
So I wait a few seconds and try again, the car still doesn’t move and I’m half on the road half in his driveway. OMG. So I get out and walk around the car to see if there is anything visibly wrong. Nothing is so it’s all with the engine. I’m like… I pace in a circle a few times anxious and lowkey panicking not really knowing what to do. So I call my dad and he pretty much tells me to call AAA and have the car towed somewhere. I do it and they say a tow truck will be on the way sometime soon. That’s all fine but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m standing my interviewer up at the moment.
So I shoot her an email explaining everything and apologizing profusely. She tells me that’s it’s totally okay and that if I give her a location she’ll come and pick me up. After about 25 minutes she arrives (idk what took her so long to find the location I sent but she’s like in her 60’s and didn’t appear too tech savvy so maybe that was it) and that’s when my dad shows up. I’m like thank God. He says he’ll take care of the car and that we can go and do our interview or whatever. At this point it’s like 3:05.
So after that we talk for about an hour and she ends up bringing me home (she wouldn’t take no for an answer) and it’s all good but I still felt super terrible for taking time out of her day so apologize and tell her how embarrassed I am. She tells me again that it’s totally fine, it wasn’t my fault, and we have a good laugh about it.
In hindsight, if nothing else, it’s a funny story to tell friends and others. But yikes… in the moment it certainly wasn’t funny one bit.

@eastcampus oh my! So, did you run out of gas or was the engine just giving up?
Hey! I applied REA for Class fo 2023, and I would really like to know when application decisions come out. I’ve asked the university a couple times for more information, and all they say is “mid-December.” Later year, the acceptances came out on Dec 12, so it might be around there. If anyone has more details, please let me know!

Okay, nevermind I just realized there were 90 pages and this was discussed for a full page. I really hope that the acceptance comes out today because I am currently fully decked out in Harvard clothes and crimson lipstick and nail polish. How likely that it comes out today?
