Hey guys, first post here... i'm sure this has been asked but.. what are the minimum requirements for harvard university... since im doing an essay on colleges... kinda started thinking about college, im only a sophomore and gpa of 3.4 from freshmen year.. yea i know i messed up but... im starting to think i want to go to harvard or mit.... what would i need to do?

You should go to your guidance counselors office and see if there’s a book on ultra-selective college admissions. But I’d ask why do you want to go to H or MIT? What do you know of them that so attracts you? If they are out of reach, what other schools have these same features?

Don’t just be enamored with the “name”.

But to answer your question, go to H and MIT’s homepages and find profiles of admitted students. You’ll get a range of test scores and admit rates.

This screams ■■■■■, from the new username to the username itself to the 7 ellipses to the topic.

I attended a Harvard admission information session on the Harvard campus in February. The admission officer who spoke their said that Harvard has neither minimum G.P.A. nor minimum test score requirements. When Harvard files its Common Data Set information, all suggested high school courses for preparation for Harvard are listed as recommended rather than as required.

That said, Harvard can afford to be choosy. Harvard received 27,000 applications last year for a freshman class of only 1,600 students. The number of student admitted by Harvard this year indicates that the Harvard admission office’s best guess of “yield” (the percentage of admitted students who will actually enroll) is 85 percent. It’s not easy to get into Harvard.

collectivsynergy, what kind of ■■■■■? i agree though, something’s afoot.

just go for it dude you never know

He/She is definitely a ■■■■■, dont bother answering this thread

what’s a ■■■■■?

^ A false thread starter who often offers either ludicrous or misleading information that is not of a contributing nature to the forums.

As for requirements:
1). 2500 minimum SAT score, or 37 ACT.
2). Minimum 5 AP classes freshman year, 6 sophomore year, 7 junior year.
3). All A’s (Any B’s are an automatic rejection)
4). Triple legacy with your father on country club golfing terms with the admissions director.
5). Minimum income of one million dollars, hard assets of at least five million. (What financial aid? We have public schools for their kind)
6). Personal Recommendations from two of the following: Congressman, Senator, Governor, member of Cabinet(excluding Sec. of Agriculture), and President.
7). Twenty-five page research paper on an original topic on the major of your choice. No citations because all information has to be your own research.
8). Win three major awards at least the state level.
9). Attend a private college preparatory school that costs more per year than the average American yearly income.
10). Live in California, Texas, or New England.

and then you have a 8.1% chance of admission…

a 3.4?

what’s your rank? Do you have any talents? Any leadership abilities?

You’re giving us very little to go on here…

That’s really the ■■■■■ post here, although I suppose it is intended in jest because of the evidently impossible numbers.
