I don't know which to choose. If you attend(ed) either one please tell me what you liked/disliked. If you did not accept admission please tell me why. I'd also like to know what kind of connections and opportunities arise as a result of attending either school.

Two of my close friends chose Harvard over Stanford. They do not regret their decisions at all and from what I’ve heard, they both love it and are very glad that they chose H. I guess Stanford has a nicer weather and such, but one of them didn’t like Stanford’s atmosphere/culture as much as Harvard’s apparently and the other, I don’t remember what she had told me but she wasn’t as excited about Stanford. Also Harvard is more prestigious with respect to international recognition and such, and I know this shouldn’t be the deciding factor or something, it’s something to keep in mind (if you want). (Pretty much over the entire world Harvard is THE best school–and I speak from experience from living in another country for 11 years) You never know, the Harvard name can probably get you a job in a foreign country more easily than Stanford (if you choose to live in a foreign country that is). But the recognition is nice too I guess.
Also, Cambridge over Palo Alto. Personally, I think there are more opportunities in Boston. Something I’ve been hearing in the last few years is that many people are coming to the northeast for colleges because they generally have access to more and better opportunities especially upon graduation (jobs, etc) than anywhere else in the US.
Harvard has better graduate school acceptance rates? I don’t know; that’s what I’ve heard.
Another friend actually transferred out of Stanford after her first year there, because she didn’t like the school (sorry I forget what she said about why).
I guess my post is a bit biased, but I’d choose Harvard over Stanford any day.
