My daughter was accepted at all three. She chose Stanford. I cannot say why for sure but I suspect overall atmospherics and location played a large role.
I love Harvard’s prestige and how people from all over the world would view it as the number 1 school in the universe. But, personally, I would have chosen to go for Stanford, too, if I had been given the same choices back in my time.
Congrats! All obviously great schools. No matter which school she goes to, she can’t go wrong and I’m sure she’ll be able to thrive. I think it’s really just a personal choice. Perhaps a little bit of preconceived bias of living in CA that seems to attract a lot of kids. Both my kids want to eventually want to end up living in CA even though we only lived in the east. Personally I prefer a 4 seasons region. My kid preferred living in Cambridge/Boston vs the quiet suburb of Princeton. The prestige factor of each school is really head to head. However, Harvard is still Harvard no matter where the US News ranks it on their list.
