Harvard vs MIT for pure mathematics

Hi.

I am a high school student that would like to study pure mathematics at university.

Is it better to study undergraduate studies in pure mathematics at Harvard or MIT?

I have heard that Harvard is more focused in humanistic studies. Is MIT better choice for pure mathematics then?

Thank you.

I just post something to make this thread alive.

Hmm…

I think they are academic equals. Harvard does have math 55, which seems to attract some people. In my humble opinion, one undergraduate class is not a great reason to choose one college over another. However, there are plenty of other reasons to choose Harvard over other schools for pure math, even MIT. Similarly, there are lots of reasons to choose MIT over Harvard for pure math. It comes down to fit, I guess.

That said, I like MIT better.

And there are plenty of other great choices too , like Princeton. If you are not already advanced in math, and don’t need grad level courses in undergrad, lots of other schools are fine choices as well - Smith, Reed, Carleton come to mind.
