in terms of prestige only

I'd say Harvard or Princeton might have more prestige. But does it really matter?

I would go Yale, Harvard, Princeton

Harvard, Yale, Princeton.

Come on, Harvard undoubtedly has the most prestige of any university.

I second kyledavid80's list.

i second jakor's second

i third inycreflex's second to jakor's second to kyledavid80's list.

I mean, it might be hard to decide between Yale and Harvard (because they're the same thing), but Princeton is just so much better, how could you * not see it *?

Stanford

I think Princeton has more prestige than Yale, but Yale has a very good visual arts department.

It does not matter. 99.9 % of the peple in the country did not get into any of these schools.

It's HYPS for a reason, not PHYS, not HPYS, not SHYP. HYPS.

Obvious question. Its Harvard, Yale, Princeton.

I come from a HS with loads of ignorant students. Everyone knows Harvard. 99% knows Yale, and not even all knows Princeton. This kid in my college english class didn't know much about JHU after he knew I was going there, so I asked him if he knew what Princeton was. The response I got was: "I heard its a pretty good school."

yeah... pretty good...

nah i really dont think so...

by rankings...
1. Princeton
2. Harvard
3. Yale

harvard is a great school, but I think people want to apply there bcause its near Boston... Yale... is kinda in NEW haven which is kinda in a kinda bad locaton.

you can't rank by overall prestige...like, Princeton owns in physics, but Yale has the most "prestigious" history department, and Harvard's known for its social sciences. But Stanford owns all in terms of weather. It's really comparing apples to oranges...

Actually, Princeton is the best, according to US news ranking
http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/t1natudoc_brief.php

If you want prestige, I'd second paulfoerster.
After all, there is only one #1

the question is how do you measure prestige?

On terms of only prestige, not quality of individual departments, it definately goes H - Y - P.

The easiest way to tell is, which school have you heard about the most since you were little?
