I'm so torn. Here's my current cursory impressions of all of them:

Harvard pros: Uber-prestige, great location, beautiful campus
Harvard cons: miserable students?, lack of community and school spirit?, less undergrad focus

Yale pros: Awesome drama and art department, super spirited students, apparently happy, I love the residential college system
Yale cons: New Haven is sketchy, people think it is 2nd best (not true, but alas)

Stanford pros: weather, "laid back", happy students
Stanford cons: self-segregated?, too techie/pre-professional, pressure to be laid back, students unaware of what's going on in the world?, hate the housing, semi-homogeneous in terms of attitude

Any help would be much appreciated. :) FYI I'm a potential English/Econ double major, love the arts, and diversity is extremely important to me.

If it were me, I’d pick Yale. Just based on what you posted. I don’t think it buys you any less than the others, as far as "best " points go. And its campus is nice too.

I would personally narrow it down between Harvard or Stanford.

Harvard for the name and grade inflation and college town.
Stanford for the grade inflation, prestige, and amazing campus. also, the laid back atmosphere.
