Add your name to the above list if you survived the first waitlist purge and are still waiting. I haven't added internationals for the present.

"Harvard has received deposits from 1,630 of the 2,058 applicants it accepted this year. That puts the school's applicant yield for 2007 at 79.2 per cent, about the same that it was last year.

It also leaves Harvard with about 30 seats left to fill in this fall's freshman class. Most of those seats are likely to be filled with applicants from Harvard's waitlist."

So...yeah...

add "b" (my son) to the list-no letter, but no call yet either

Does anyone have an idea how many people are retained on the waiting list?

I should be able to find out next week, my guidance counselor is gone for his long weekend.

I'm still waiting (Bay Area, CA). I SIR-ed to MIT and really fell in love with the place after CPW, but Harvard would be a lot harder to turn down than Princeton or Stanford...

Who else is lurking out there and hasn't received a rejection letter? Come on join the list.

Well you can take me off that list, letter arrived in the mail yesterday (at least it means I was right about, if I survive through Friday I'm in the clear). So I guess that's it for me, off to UPenn now, which has been very kind to me, looking forward to the school year.

Wish all of you the best of luck!

When was the letter dated, sdong? Did the May 18 letter just take that long to reach you because you were in Canada? Or have they sent out more rejections??
Congrats on Penn BTW, that's soo awesome.

You can add me to the list. I haven't heard anything as of Friday. I've been away since Friday afternoon, so hopefully nothing came in the mail today.

It seems like a lot of people haven't found out yet. I'm surprised they would drag it out this long.

well just judging from the CC sampling...the majority of waitlisted candidates have not been notified yet...they rejected a minority and accepted a very very very tiny number too.

waitlist = pain + misery

Does not receiving a letter by now mean that we've survived the first round?

generic name: imo, yes. Hope it all works out.

Well, I got my mail today.
So.... Go Blue!
Thanks for all the help CC :P

Is it just me, or does Harvard seem to be slowly weeding people off their wait list and making everyone still on it wait longer?

Does anyone know how many of the 30 or so acceptance spots from the wait list have been filled already ?
