Anyone else get waitlisted? How many do you think they'll take this year? Good luck everyone

me! lol, but i got upenn, so as far as i’m concerned that’s where i’ll be fall of 2011 :)

there is a waitlist thread in the main harvard cc site…you will want to list yourself there. lots of comradeship. Last year between 80 and 100. No way of knowing until the yield is published on May 1. My S did it last year and on other threads I have posted what we learned as he went through it.
Most importantly fall in love with those colleges which did accept you. If harvard says yes–assuming you want to remain on the list–that will be the cherry on top. All of the students that were not successful off the WL have had great experiences this year at their respective universities.

oh ok thanks etondad. Attending Harvard has always been a dream of mine, I would love to see it happen but if it doesn’t, oh well. Washington and Lee and Holy Cross are both fine institutions and ones that I would love to attend. I would love to go to Dartmouth, where I did get accepted, but its a bit rich for my blood sadly. Nothing like Harvard’s financial aid

^ ask Dartmouth if you can, and if so how, your financial aid package-- that you WANT and WILL attend if the money could be made right. They may be able to help, perhaps not enough, but at least you can say to yourself that you gave a full effort. IF they do help-- don’t look back, buy Green sweatshirts.

Good luck on the wait list. Remember, almost always at least some people come off…

I was waitlisted too…

The problem, obviously, is that none of us will find out whether we get in until after we will have had to commit to another school.

All that means is that you lose your deposit in the highly unlikely event that you get off the waitlist.

I got wait listed too…
I am thinking Blue Devils now.

Yep, waitlisted here.

This is obviously my number one choice, and part of me thought I might be better off just re-applying next year.

But this article ([College Waitlists: How to Get in When You?re Waitlisted - The Daily Beast](The Daily Beast: The Latest in Politics, Media & Entertainment News)) got me thinking… apparently there are ways to “nudge yourself” into acceptance. IS THIS EVEN POSSIBLE?

Harvard will be taking about 10-15 kids this year from the wait list…article from Harvard Crimson. dt May 12th 2011
WOW!!!
