I found OP’s post to be, in a word, weird! It sounds to me like the post of a person who is having “buyer’s remorse,” and is publicly trying to rationalize his decision, by putting down the competing option that he did not choose.

I wonder if he has visited Harvard’s campus and spent any time there? If he does get into Harvard RD, I will be interested to know whether he sticks with Princeton or changes his mind. I would encourage him to attend the admitted students weekend, so that he can become more personally informed (as opposed to relying on a few articles) about which campus is a better fit for him. He has a wonderful option with Princeton which was his #1 choice; I wonder why he feels the need to make others who chose Harvard, in essence, feel “bad.” Does he think that Harvard admits are incapable of undertaking the same type of research and evaluation that he did?

[I am not and never was a Harvard student; I have a D who graduated from Harvard].
