chances at University of Florida, out of state

is the 3.8 weighted? if it's a weighted 3.8, with 1280 SAT's, and OOS, I don't think you'll get in. UF doesn't use the writing at all FYI. EC's are decent, but nothing amazing.

Maybe an outside shot, but the GPA and OOS hurt you.

might help, you're SAT's are at about the 50% point for the school, their average weighted GPA I believe is like a 4.0 or so, maybe 3.9, so that puts you below their 50%. In state you'd have a chance, but my money would have you on the outside comming from OOS.

I'd say in. State schools look for good out of state applicants. The school is big, and you have decent scores. Your flaws are your Ecs/honors. They are low, and don't show much leadership...

Dude, don't lie in your subject. But yeah, I think you have a shot. It's worth applying if you want to get in. Coming from OOS your chances are probably going to be below that 53%.

You should post your unweighted GPA though.

****ty or not, those are the standards to get in, if you have a different opinion, by all means say something with stats to back it up instead of baseless attacks.

I'm not sure your chances on UF. They are being extremly picky this year, I live in Florida, so many of my classmates have applied. Many of them have already been rejected and a few deferred (a few got in). I'm sure it's even worse for OOS students. But you'll never know unless you apply. Good Luck!
