Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Georgetown

Chances for Harvard, Yale, Columbia and Georgetown? I do believe that I will get into one of these, so which one should I be hoping for? Right now I am sort of leaning towards Georgetown because of it's location but I am not sure. I only want to apply to these schools because they are 5 of the best Political Science programs in the country.

REC's

All of them should be good.
Congressman John Larson is writing an additional letter of recommendation.
My essay's are all very good.

I believe that is it? If I left anything out I'll post it, so what are your thoughts people.

Aw, jeez, another one of you. Stellar academics, solid ECs...but so very generic - no wonder a good number get rejected; if they admitted all of you, it'd be an extremely homogeneous bunch.

Well, you're cream o' the crop. You've got a good shot at any of them, but (and this is my catchphrase now), it's all a crapshoot with somewhat fixed dice. Unless you're hooked, it's anyone's guess. You'll probably get in somewhere, Georgetown seeming the most likely to me, but you ought to have a safety nonetheless.

Good luck, my over-achieving fellow CC'er!

Yes, I am overachieving. Your stats are very similar to mine though.

I'd be happy getting into Georgetown. Georgetown and Columbia are my two top.

What in the world are you talking about? I'm in no way comparable to the awesomeness that is you, along with those of your caliber. I bow down in your almighty presence, in sheer awe of your achievements.

:D

Seriously, though I was being extremely cynical and sarcastic earlier, I do mean to say that you've got as good a shot as any (and better than most) of making it in to at least one of those.

And yes, in all honesty, I am awed by your stats. I'm just being snappy as an instinctive response born of envy and a sense of dejection. :(

Hope I never offended. Sarcasm is hard to get across online, what with the lack of tone to differentiate.

Hmmm, I'd aim for Carlson College of Massage Therapy, but I don't think they have a political program.

Well Karl, you should give yourself a pat on the back because your attempt at comical sarcasm worked beautifully.

Prescited-Thanks for your comments.

Whoo, another Ned Lamont fan.

Harvard-Reach
Yale-reach
Columbia-match
Georgetown-match (almost into the safety range)

4.84 weighted is an amazing GPA. Harvard and Yale are probably not guaranteed but it is not a reach. Columbia and Georgetown are both great. Good luck

***Well Karl, you should give yourself a pat on the back because your attempt at comical sarcasm worked beautifully.

Prescited-Thanks for your comments.***

Hmmm, who peed in your cheerios? With your amazing aptitude in vocabulary and reading comprehension, you should have realized I was merely being facetious.

fa·ce·tious

not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.

amusing; humorous.

I'm sorry I ruined your thread. If it's any consolation, you obviously have a good chance at those schools.

I've pretty much got the exact same stats as you, plus girl scouts since Kindergarten w/ a Gold Award.. and I got deferred from Yale. Like it's been said, it's all a crapshoot.

Oh, and if you're looking for another safety (and I hate calling it a safety, but when you reach a certain point, it kinda is), look at Tufts. Second best political science program in the country (after Georgetown) by quite a few credible rankings.
