I am currently looking at the ivies and hope that you can give me an idea of my chances for those and a few other schools

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Georgetown
George Washington
Cornell
University of Washington
UPenn
UVA
UCSB

HYP -- reach, with URM status, still a reach, but better.
UCSB out of state -- ?
UW - safety
UVA out of state -- ?
georgetown - match
UPenn - slight reach
Cornell - match
GW -- ?

alright.... to add to the list; Stanford, NYU, and Boston College

i think UW is harder to get into than santa barbara even if you're not a CA resident. i think GW is definitly a match and also USCB/UW

HYP -- reach
UCSB out of state -- safety
UW - match/safety
UVA out of state -- match
georgetown - match
UPenn - reach
Cornell - slight reach
GW -- match

With your stats, I definitely would try to ED somewhere more prestigious than Cornell. You can always get in RD in Cornell with those scores.

Yeah Cornell is a lock. I think you need a few more schools between HYPS and Georgetown. You can drop NYU and GW, you're getting into BC. Add Dartmouth, Brown, or Duke. Perhaps Northwestern as a slight reach/ match.

Harvard- reach
Yale- reach
Princeton match / slight reach?
Georgetown match
George Washington match
Cornell - match / slight reach?
University of Washington match
UPenn match
UVA Definete in
UCSB- safety

Harvard and Yale are equally selective... Princeton is also more selective than you imply.

This is the problem with strangers giving unqualified advice... :)

yeah, ^^pton is harder, but hey, congrads with all the successes, i salute you for all the hard work you have put in over the years, wish i had done the same.
I hope you get in to a nice school :)
good luck :)

i hate calculus :p

What is AYB? Also, most of your schools require a third SATII. That said, with the usual caveats about not taking anything for granted, showing interest and having good essays and recs...

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Crapshoot, maybe a little higher than the average chance (~20-30%, depending on your presentation. A cut above J. Random applicant because of the URM)

Georgetown
Match, maybe safety-match

George Washington
Super Safety (I think)

Cornell
Match-reach

University of Washington
Assuming you mean WUSTL, safety for ED, semi reach otherwise because they are lame and manipulate their RD acceptance to get US News brownie points. (If you mean UWashington the state school, easy safety)

UPenn
Match-reach

UVA
Safety

UCSB
Super Safety (why UCSB in particular)?

In, at all. Your SAT scores alone put you among the top 150 Hispanic students in the country, better than top 100 among males.

UVA out-of-state is definitely NOT a safety.

georgetwon is not a "Safety-match" either. It's way too selective to be considered anyone's safety...

I wonder how the URM status will work for u because i heard that the URM thingy becomes less significant if u r middle class or higher. So i don't think G-town or UVA is a safety also i think upenn is a reach. Cornell is a match-reach. I'm not sure how much the URM status will affect u but u r even without it a solid applicant good luck.

Also, the URM thing works depending upon which specific country you are from. If you're straight from Mexico you gain more advantage then say being from Spain and moving here.

There is no school in the country that is de-emphasizing URM admissions, regardless of economic status. Some of the schools are increasing emphasis on socio-economic status as well (not many, mind you: Amherst in particular, and Princeton and Harvard have suggested as much, though it hasn't yet shown up in the data.)

Admissions at any top school aren't going to be a problem. You might get rejected at one or two (though I doubt it).

Mini is right. HYP get most of the top URM apps, making them a bit of a long shot, but you will likely get into at least one. The others are pretty solid.
