Harvard

First, read this <a href="http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2008/03/21/harvard_will_not_accept_transfers_for_2_years/%5B/url%5D">http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2008/03/21/harvard_will_not_accept_transfers_for_2_years/</a></p>

"The moratorium is for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years."

I start Community college in the fall as a freshman

so is my first year 08-09 and second year 09-10?

so would this rule affect me if I tried to transfer to Harvard?

since I need to finish 2 years.

also when they say transfer do they mean you can transfer from a community college to Harvard?

I want to try!

i believe you would be able to. but it was very hard before this whole thing, and i can’t imagine it getting much easier once/if they reinstate it

Dont count on them to keep their word. There’s a good chance Harvard will indefinitely follow Princeton’s transfer policy.

yes your years were right, it would be the fall 2010 spring 2011 school year (lol that seems so far away)

dont hold your breath. Harvard is looking to follow princeton’s no transfer policy

Yes I agree with you it seems obvious that two terms later they will say the same thing.

Initialy I had no faith in transfering to Harvard from a cc, I mostly saw it as either straight from high school or a university.

You can certainly apply if they are open to transfers when you will be an entering junior.

However do not fall into the trap of obsessing about Harvard. There are numerous other excellent schools, as I am sure you know. Ones that are far more likely to accept you (or anyone) as a transfer. Obsess about those. Then throw in Harvard if you feel you must.

Very true I am actually obsessed about Berkeley which I am confident in but I just want to give Harvard a shot.

Well, if you are obsessed about Berkeley, I hope that you are a California resident planning to attend a ccc. Then, you have a reasonably sensible obsessions ;).

Correct and it’s for Haas.
