Harvard

so whats up with harvard rejecting the URM who got into IMO among USAMO, blue MOP, and intense math competitions. and he had research, high rank, etc.
and the guy who had 800 800 800 800 800 800 12 80 36 rank 1
and the URM who had like 4 research projects + engineering competitions (he was black ffs)

I hear Harvard’s pretty difficult to get into.

And Dbate said Yale was his first choice anyway.

“I hear Harvard’s pretty difficult to get into.”
no really??

Why’d they reject me? I was the president of my school chess club!

tom jones you need to take a break lol

lol you’re ■■■■■■■■ right??

No URM has EVER made IMO. In the past ten years, there have only been two URM MOPpers (I think both made red MOP). That said, one of those URM MOPpers was, in fact, rejected by Harvard this year (crazy ehh?).

You need to chill. You’re like on some posting-spree.

[Every math geeks dream: Red MOP](<a href=“http://www.tensens.com.au/contents/media/t_sm-318-r%20hospital%20red%20mop.jpg"]Every”>http://www.tensens.com.au/contents/media/t_sm-318-r%20hospital%20red%20mop.jpg)

its bc harvard is racist

You post way too much

Someone in my school got into Harvard. How should I worship him?

What’s MOP?

MOP = Math Olympiad Summer Program, for the top scorers (sort of*) on the USAMO.

*top 12 regardless (“black” MOP), then the next something non-seniors (“blue” MOP), then some freshmen (“red” MOP).

(Funny thing: Freshmen, at least when I was there in 2006, could ONLY be in Black or Red MOP. Even if you were a freshman above the Blue cutoff, you would still be in Red. See: Eric Larson.)

K thanks

Skip to the portion that said: Indian/Asian Male…there is your reasons

Affirmative Action at its best

Side note: MOP?! O.O praise the all powerful one That is pretty intense. But affirmative action >> MOP…according to harvard and many Ivies/Colleges nowaday. What a pity.

The guy was AA, that is why they think what happened is so odd.

dude, you need to do something exceptionally rare. these days, everyone gets perfect scores. it’s hard to choose amongst them. now if you start a non-profit organization and it becomes a success … that’s something rare (:
