When (if ever) do we find out what the yield was for this year? Just curious to know!

I think they usually do release the numbers...but I haven't seen anything about it yet. I too am curious!

Well, I'm not entirely sure what it means but I hope it is sky high.

why do you hope it is a sky high yield?

I'm hoping that they either nailed it or overshot. It the yield is higher than expected, then they'll be trying to stick five freshmen in each of the single dorms.

Yeah, I'd prefer that they take a minor blow to yield so that I don't have to share a bed. Does that make me selfish? >.>

Moderator Note: At the request of several posters, I have created a separate thread for the "spin-off" discussion of freshman housing and implications of yield for the housing situation.

This thread, then, can focus on yield apart from the housing aspect.

Last few years' crimson articles regarding yield are dated May 17th-ish. Wait another 2 weeks.

My guess is 70% yield with more than usual taken off the waitlist.

berekely,

Why do think this?

I think maybe 110%

optimistic waitlistee?

hope it is less than 75%. i am on waitlist :)

lol, next thing you know it will be "hope it's less than half!"

I'm actually not a waitlistee. If you read the Waitlist thread, more than one person have said that they called the admin office and Harvard's definitely using te waitlist more than usual this year. Since normally they yield around 80%, I guessed a conservative 75%.

You said 70 lol

The yield has stayed steady at around 78% this year, expecting approximately 150-175 students to get off the waitlist...

The Harvard Crimson :: News :: College Sees No Change in Admissions Yield

Nice...eliminating EA didn't hurt at all, and there are a LOT of waitlist spots now open. Everyone wins.

Does anyone know what the percentage of students were waitlisted? And if Harvard accepts 150-175 from the waitlist this year, what percent is that from the waitlist?

Haha guess I did. In case you guys didn't see the Crimson article, yield was aroudn 78%.
