I applied to the fly in program and I was just wanting to know when we’re supposed to be getting our results back. Or if anyone has received results yet
I applied but haven’t heard anything back… Have you??
No. I was just making sure that I wasn’t the only one who hadn’t received it lol. Let me know when you have though!
Did you even get a verification email for submitting an application? I didn’t so I’m freaking out about it
No didn’t either. I was worried about that too
I made my daughter send an email to confirm they received it and they responded yes.
Apps were begging accepted until last week and they said notices would go out in about a week from that, so soon.
Acceptances are out! DD wants to go, anyone else going?
I GOT ACCEPTED! I’m going and it’s gonna be lit. Is your DD going September 29-October 1?
I didn’t get an email. So I guess I didn’t get in?
Congrats to you leaguemaster420! Yes my dd just replied that she is going the same weekend. It sounds like fun and from past posts, HMC will treat you nicely. I read that you will get a fee waiver for your application, too. I think you will have a chance to interview and there is some activity where the participants role play that they are admission officers with fake student applications to evaluate. It supposedly teaches you what HM is looking for in an applicant and how to do your own application. Wow, it’s such a small group accepted, my DD feels so lucky. Are you flying? Are you from California? We are in CA about 6 hours north so DD will fly.
@fidoprincess I’m from North Carolina which means that Harvey Mudd is flying me all the way across the country! I feel exceptionally lucky to have been accepted and I can’t wait for FAST. Honestly I was 90% confident I would get rejected and ended up applying on a whim. Congrats on your DD for getting accepted as well. Harvey Mudd must treat us well since they are even giving us Panera Bread for breakfast.
I emailed them and it turn out I did get in! Hooray!
@dsi411 Congrats! Are you going September 29-October 1?
@leaguemaster420 Yes, I am going that weekend! But I’m not from far away like you, I’m from Southern California. I’m quite nervous for the interviews, I hope it goes well.
Congrats @dsi411, the fun should outweigh the scary interview! You should practice ahead of time with someone who will give you feedback and then you will be more confident and not so nervous. Be ready with answers to the standard questions and you will do fine. It’s nice that they expect you to dress casually for the interview so try to think of it as a “conversation” instead of an interrogation. Remember to have a few questions ready, ones that aren’t answered on the website. I bet you and DD will be in the first interview group and leaguemaster will be in the second because of the travel times and long flights. You will do great and it’s nice that you can just drive there. I’m nervous about DD flying alone even though it’s a short flight for her. She is still 16 but has flown a lot with us so she should be okay. She knows the ropes for shoes and security and is smart enough to find the gate.
@leaguemaster420 , wow, North Carolina is far, so glad you can come visit California. Have you been before? DD finally let me see the page that you had a log in password and it looks like a great time. I was surprised that there are no Saturday activities so that is good for us and some schedule conflicts on Sat night trying to get her back from the airport.
She sent her form in right away but hasn’t had a reply back and no one has contacted her yet for travel arrangements. Have you heard anything? Did you get some kind of confirmation when you sent your reply?
@leaguemaster420 @fidoprincess Did you guys get the email with host information that they were supposed to send by Monday?
Yes. My hosts are Jason and Trevor. @dsi411
@leaguemaster420 Oh, I didn’t get the email. I guess I should email them about it.
@leaguemaster420 Oh yay, I got my host now! Only one though, that’s cool that you have two.
Yay, glad to hear everyone got their hosts assigned, interviews set up and travel plans are confirmed. DD just has one host, too.
I am watching the clock today so DD can check into her flight. She is very excited. She had a ton of school work to finish before she can leave and a lot of tests that she had to make up early just for missing two days. We have to find a sleeping bag and suitcase and she has to get her stuff together but it’s nice that HM says to dress casual for the interview and the whole trip. It’s HOT there, 91 tomorrow and 89 on Saturday but remember sweatshirts as the nights are chilly.
I hope you both have a great time, learn a lot and have safe trips! Come back and tell us how your trip was after you return. Have fun and good luck with your interviews.
