Harvey Mudd, HYPS, UC's

So now that their results are out, I'd be especially interested in anyone comparable telling where they got in. Harvey Mudd is probably my first choice right now, maybe ED there, my feeling is HYPS are all pretty reachy, UC's are pretty good possibilities, and Harvey Mudd is a match. I live in California and plan on applying to UC Berkeley and San Diego

I'm taking Calc BC as a junior, plan on teaching myself Multi-Var over the summer, testing into diffy-Q or next level calculus at the local JC in the fall.
I'll probably take the AP Bio test, and maybe the AP Calc BC as well.

SAT right now is 2180 - 670 Writing, 720 Verbal, 790 Math - I plan on improving that, if i want Harvey Mudd's $10k automatic scholarship i need to get the writing up to 700, so figure on at least that. No SAT II's yet, but better than 720 is my goal. on Lit., Math 2, and Physics

I have a website, but it really doesn't get any traffic, so w/e

My essay will probably be middle of the road at HYPS/Mudd, above avg. at the UC's
No special considerations, caucasian, male, middle-income, both parents went to college, but at UCSB and San Jose State so no legacy (Right down the crack)

I got into UCB/UCLA/ UCSD/UCD. My stats were like 3.9 UC GPA, 1910 SAT (CR and Math were 1360), 5 Ap's passed em all, Incredible Leadership/ Community Service (no joke i can list later), SAT II - 710 math, 690 U.S. History. I hope this helps a bit by being able to compare im not sure what else i should. But you have a very good chance at any UC. Goodluck.

i think you have a decent shot at mudd. you are ambitious which is nice, but what are your possible college majors?

Right now I'm pretty set on a math major, so, yeah, whatever that means. I'd really love to go to Princeton for Grad school, but would kinda rather do the small liberal artsy thing undergrad

I don't think you have spectacular chances at HYPS. The IB scores you posted are pretty mediocre for someone looking at those schools. Given your projections, it's interesting that you're a straight-As student at your school, that may actually be fine for HYPS though. Your ECs are ok, but lack service and really significant depth.

As for the UCs and HMC though, I think you're fine.

The IB scores are almost irrelevant. Most IB scores are obtained after graduation, when the application process has concluded. If you take some junior year IB tests, you can choose whether or not to report them, in most cases.
