Harvey Mudd, Princeton, or Williams for STEM

You can’t really transfer into Mudd. I think per the Common Data Set they accepted ONE transfer last year. The core is just too intense and rigorous that first year, I think no one else is doing the same things you do that first year and it is very difficult to catch up with that. For example, by the end of the first year Mudd students have completed Calculus, Probability and Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. They don’t take AP credits and hardly anyone places out of these required classes. And that is just the math curriculum, they are also loaded up with 2 chem classes and a chem lab, physics (Special Relativity, Mechanics and Wave Motion, and a Physics lab), Comp Sci intro, the writing core class, intro to Bio, and a couple of required humanities courses that are part of the core. Oh, and a required phys ed credit. And my kid took a second CS elective.

Mudd is ABET accredited. Students at Mudd do not have a lot of trouble finding work even in specialized fields given the depth and quality of their engineering education.
