Harvey Mudd question...

I was about to ask Harvey Mudd by e-mail whether they accept supplemental recommendations. How should I start it? I know it doesn't matter much, but "Dear Sir/Madam" almost sounds obnoxious while "Hey, sup?" might not fly either. Just wondering.

Or, if you already know, you could tell me whether or not they accept them. That'd probably be ideal.

I just wrote “Hey,” as the greetings to all my e-mails to admission officers. They were all little questions, so I doubt that they’d be offended and note this down in my application file and eventually use it as proof to reject me. :P

It…doesn’t…matter.

I bet they probably will take your extra recommendation, but of course, they don’t really want to read an additional one unless it sheds new light on your character/activities.

If you’re really that worried about this, why not just use an anonymous email account?

Birdhouse: thanks!
PBailey: I was just curious.
