Harvey Mudd SAT score choice

I thought I read somewhere that Harvey Mudd requires all of your standardized test scores (though for some reason I can’t find the notice right now).

My question is - if DD has taken the SAT twice and the ACT once - can she just send in (all) of her ACT scores? Or does she have to send all 3 of her SAT + ACT scores?

Oh - I guess in this thread:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/1912440-must-you-submit-all-sat-act-or-sat-subject-test-scores-p1.html

@drusba has said that Mudd’s admission page has changed back and forth on the matter.

@Ynotgo says they called on 9/19 and said admissions said “all of both SAT and ACT must be sent”.

Looking at the wayback machine for that page:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160315020439/https://www.hmc.edu/admission/apply/first-year-students/application-materials/

I can’t find any historical version where it does say they require all scores.

So I’m confused. Didn’t I read it somewhere on Mudd’s site? And if it was there but it’s not anymore - why would they have taken it down?

And how is someone who is applying supposed to know??? It’s not like I call every college DD is applying to and ask “do you have any hidden requirements not listed on your website?”

I found this quote here: https://www.hmc.edu/admission/2015/12/11/attention-prospective-applicants-for-fall-2017/

ETA: So, yes, send in everything!

I don’t have an explanation about why they are so unclear on this.

I do know that there is a comment on the blog page at https://www.hmc.edu/admission/2015/12/11/attention-prospective-applicants-for-fall-2017/ that says:

My son sent in one ACT and two SATs, and one of the SATs was foolishly taken with a pounding headache.

Beat you to it @Ynotgo . LOL!

That’s pretty incomprehensible to me. Not their policy - but that it’s so poorly documented…

I wonder what fraction of applicants didn’t know / didn’t send in all of their scores, just because they didn’t read some comment on a blog post… If Mudd accepts them, finds out later, and disqualifies them - that would be pretty horrible of them IMO.

Well it is right there on their required application materials.

However, the blog answer just clarifies it…I understand there can be some question, I know when my son applied we weren’t sure if we should turn in 2 SAT Subject tests (required) or all 3 that he took. We emailed them, they responded all 3. So really “all” means “all”.

OMG, you’re right! How did I miss that??

Sorry for being blind.

Wait a second - I think they just added it back on!!!

I’m almost certain it wasn’t there before… (I had literally searched for “all” on the page, and looked at every instance.)

Look at the wayback machine:
https://web.archive.org/web/20161204054955/https://www.hmc.edu/admission/apply/first-year-students/application-materials/

I guess someone from Mudd is reading this thread??

Also look in Google’s cache:

It’s not there in that copy either…

Waving Hi to the Harvey Mudd admissions team. :-h

Wow, that’s interesting…

I remember when we applied it was pretty clear they wanted all scores, so it must have been on there then. With the change (wrt writing scores) they might have accidentally removed it and are now getting a lot of questions so they remembered to put it back. Though since ED applications were due a month ago, I think they would have noticed before now.

I also noticed the question was asked and answered in that blog last July as well as the Oct answer we already posted.

I agree! That definitely was not there before (when i applied!!!)

It doesn’t seem fair that we would need to read the comment section of the blog posts…
