Harvey Mudd vs Colgate

Is it obvious?
Help me decide. I am thinking in engineering, physics or math but I would like to take some courses on business, economy, or just something else than science. People here compares Harvey Mudd with the Ivies, is it that good? I sometimes feel comments overrate it.
A friend from Harvard told me that the reputation of Colgate is high above that of HMC. I live abroad, I don't know anything. In my country both are as unknown as colleges in latin america are for americans.
Do Harvey mudd graduates do big things after they graduate?

Mafp, Harvey Mudd graduates are pretty darn successful in nearly anything they pursue after HMC. Many go to grad school. Many go into industry. Some go into politics (The embassador to Iran, I think, and others). Some go into the arts. In addition, some are unemployed.

I sat down with one of my physics profs yesterday (for about an hour). She made it very clear that HMC tries not only to make you technically marvelous, but also a problem solver in any field.

This place is tough. I'll tell you straight upfront though: If you don't mind a very small school that is very intensive, you have found the right place.

In comparison to Colgate, I use Crest. (j/k!) Umm, I don't know too much about Colgate other than I know it is a top program in the country. I think your Harvard friend was a little overzealous in saying that it is "high above" HMC in terms of reputation.

A degree from HMC is very impressive to anyone who knows anything about HMC... especially in Engineering, Physics, or Math. But hey, it's unlikely that you or anyone believes me because the common perception is that the Ivies are better for these fields...whatever... there's no point in trying to convince you.

The BEST college for you depends on what you want. I fimly believe that you receive the best all-around technical education from HMC but that means nothing to people who don't know anything about HMC.
