Harvey Mudd's FAST program

I got a email from Harvey Mudd recommending their FAST (Future Achievers of Science and Technology) program. I couldn't find any information on it other than Harvey Mudd's website.

What have other people heard about this program?

If you are interested or even remotely considering HM, you should attend!

This program is similar to those offered at most highly ranked engineering schools-- “Diversity Weekends” are offered for engineering/science students at Cornell, UMichigan and for all students at CMU, MIT, Swarthmore, etc

It’s the school’s attempt to woo you over…but most people report that attending these programs (which often amounts to a pre-screen of all your credentials) increases the likelihood of admissions.

If it’s not too time consuming for you given travel, school obligations, etc, then by all means attend if HM may be a school you would enjoy.

Apply! Please! HMC pays for you to come and visit. I hosted a girl from OH when she came last year and it seemed it was fun.

I heard from this program too. If I can afford the travel expenses, I will most likely attend.

The program is free; your travel expenses are paid for.

^Thanks. I didn’t catch that when I was skimming through the website

Is this program primarily for diversity students?? Couldn’t find it on the website - thanks!

^Here’s the website: [Fall FAST Program (Seniors)](http://www.hmc.edu/admission1/fastprogram/fast1/fallfast.html)

The program is aimed for those who are traditionally underrepresented in engineering. Women, minorities, and first-generation students, among other people.

I kept getting emails from them about FAST. I figure I’ll apply because it’s free. I’m female, but not a minority or first-gen or anything. I doubt I’ll apply to Harvey Mudd, but hey, if I’m accepted to the program and I like the weekend, who knows?
