Has any admitted student activated his NetID? Need some help...

Hi, thank you for taking a look here. I am having some prob activating my NetID. After typing all the info down, there wasn't any webpage showing things like " ok u have activated you acc" or thing but instead it shows:

This page is only for the use of incoming students. If you've forgotten your password and need to re-gain access to your account, call 847-491-HELP. If you know your password, and need to change it, go to https://snap.it.northwestern.edu/it/snaps/unetid.cgi.

Does that mean i have to pay the deposit in order to activate it or something else?

Arh, terrible

I'm getting the same thing when I try to activate mine...anyone know why?

i got the same problem too. (ever since last monday when i received the fedex since i am intl) But I assume their system is not ready yet... so that's why.

Hi and Congrats on getting in. I got in ED. If I go to Applicant Services, my Net ID works (after punching in my e-mail).

BTW: When I set up my e-mail account with NU there were problems. It kept saying my birthdate was wrong????? Finally tho, after e-mailing them, it was corrected.

Hi and congratulations! I got in ED-and yes...I had trouble setting up my NetID initially cuz everytime I put in my birthdate it said it was wrong??!!

After e-mailing them the problem was fixed.

And no-you don't have to pay anyting to set it up (although we had to send in a $400 deposit-but I don't think that had anything to do with stting up the account).

Woohooo-see you in Evanston!!!

But we can't even activate the ID, and we see no option to input birthday. Thanks.

Primab-how did u activate your ID?

I doubt you can have a Northwestern Net ID and email address until you have committed to going there.

Exactly. They (translation: you) have to pay for server space.

Sorry about the previous double post. Didn't think it had posted-and when I re-read it I realized I wasn't answering the question.

Just looked at your responses-and I bet you're right. I guess you have to respond-and commit-to NU. Obviously-when you get in ED there is no question
