Has anybody else's dancer committed to Montclair

Soooo, anybody else headed to Montclair for Fall, 2022? My granddaughter just submitted her deposits and is scheduled for Accepted Students Day on April 10. After her audition and acceptance, she was planning on auditioning for Marymount, too, though she was leaning toward Montclair. Unfortunately she was dropped during a lift and by the time she recovered from a mild concussion, the deadline had passed. She’s thrilled with Montclair, though and now has to go back and say no thank you to all the other schools.

She’s thinking about residence halls and is weighing Freeman because of the arts community and The Heights because it’s gorgeous, new and air conditioned.

Yes, I am living vicariously through her right now.:joy::joy::heart_eyes:

My daughter is a current sophomore. She has lived in Freeman for two years and has been totally happy with it. She likes the proximity to the dance building and she prefers the cafeteria that is in Freeman. The music building is right across the green and there are often folks outside playing their instruments.

Congratulations and welcome!

My DD is going to attend Montclair next fall 2022! We are from Colombia! We think that The Heights complex is very nice option! There are single and double rooms!
We can keep in touch, as an international student, my DD needs to contact MSU students as soon as possible!

Is your daughter on the Instagram page for incoming Montclair freshmen? My granddaughter has had a potential roommate contact her already. We are going up for accepted student day on April 10, so hoping she will meet some people.

My granddaughter is still considering Freeman. It’s so close to where she needs to be.

Does your daughter minor in anything? She is trying to decide on something that would help with the whole struggling artist income. :joy:

My daughter is minoring in musical theatre, doubling down on the performing arts…

That’s great! My GD debated MT when she was auditioning for her arts high school, but even though she was All County chorus for 2 years, singing isn’t her thing. When she is dancing she’s really bold, but she is shy when it comes to projecting her voice. Montclair has so many choices for minors!

We are taking her up on April 10 for Accepted Students day. It will be nice to visit without the stress of auditions. Her mom and stepdad will be taking her up for move in, so I’m glad we get to do this.

Hi! My daughter and your grand daughter should be friends at this time…
What’s her name?
My daughter’s name is Steph!
