I know they published all the topics that they are selecting from for the exam on their website so I would like to know if anybody has gone through all these topics and written essays for each of them and how did it work for you?
Do they actually select one of those topics, or are they just samples and similar to what you’ll see? I think writing a bunch of essays would be a big waste of time, but it could be useful to think of examples you’d use for as many topics as you can. I remember when I applied about 5 years ago, I took the GRE twice. The first time, I got some topic that I didn’t feel strongly about at all and couldn’t come up with any good examples. I got a 4 I think. Then I retook it and got a decent issue topic and got a 4.5.
