Has anybody got into long beach state yet (csulb)?

Just called to check my status today… the automated message has changed… it now says “We have recieved your application” “press 1 to list documents” “no missing documents at this time!”, the “initial review has been complete, and we have yet to to determine your admission” has gone away… I Reckon they’ve already made a decision… I really want to get into this school, you guys don’t know how much it means to me, i get depressed just thinking about being rejected… i want this so bad, i kinda feel like breaking down if you know what i mean :S… Has anyone else gotten this message?!? :S

I’ll call in an hour when it’s my free period. Hoping it’s good news.

I have been calling for a month and a half, but I still haven’t heard anything. Why is this taking so long anyway? It only took Sonoma and north ridge a month to decide.

Just called in on my free period…got in!

are you in or out of state pveticket?

pveticket: are you a transfer? or a first time freshmen?

ironman: i’ve been calling that number for the past six weeks and that message has been up for awhile but I called today and the lady said no decision yet and that I will be notified by mail aaah! I really want to get into this school too the wait is so long.

Incoming freshman

I think it depends a lot on the major you’ve applied for as well

Hello everyone!

I have a question for the transfer students who got accepted. When did you guys send in your transcripts? I sent mine on Feb 23rd and all of them got mailed in the next day except one which was mailed on March 2nd. I called today to check my status and according to the message, they have received all of my transcripts except the one which was mailed later. I’m concerned about whether the transcript got to the campus before the deadline or am I too late.

I live in Irvine, CA and my GPA is 3.6

I got in about 3 weeks ago :O. And around 2 weeks ago they sent me a sticker and folder.

@missbrightside Thanks for letting me know!

@beachychic, are you in state or out of state? freshmen or transfer student? can you please give us your stats? THANK YOU :)!

@iamtheironman

In state, (Nor Cal) Freshman.
GPA: 3.77
SAT: 1800
TONS of volunteer hours, teach a foreign language to Indian kids in my community, teach dance, tutor, etc. Started up a nonprofit club at our school that donates all money raised to charities.

^ Also, I saw your stats on a different thread, you deserve to get in, hang in there! You’re way more qualified than I am and I don’t really even want to go to CSULB. I’m 99.9% not going… :(

wth…i just tried calling the automated system and the lady says “we are experiencing system difficulties…please try again later”

They said they’ll tell all highschool seniors before April 1

Also they don’t even check for volunteer hours
they just look sat and gpa

So I called the school, and the tech person told me that long beach is behind on their admission decisions, so they’ll be going out into April…
Also, I tried to log onto my account, but they don’t give you one until you’ve been accepted.
They’ll email you if you’re in or not.
Hope this helps!

Community college transfer here, over at Orange Coast College(in the local transfer area so I have preference)
I got accepted today. 3.4GPA at time of application, 3.51 after they asked for my transcript.

Accepted to business finance.

at a local school they have an agreement with though so I have priority over a lot of people.

How are the California Community Colleges? Please share all information. What is the nicest campus? How about on campus housing? Quality of education?

Thanks.

i would suggest going to a community college and transferring, depending on what major you do because the first two years are almost EXACTLY the same curriculum you would be taking at a university. and community college students tend to get more fin aid since it is federal money and not state money (caz cali’s economy is not that great right now) lol and its waaayyyyyyyyy cheaper.
