Has anybody heard for GSP yet?

I was only discussing kids accepted into GSP as Freshman and then trying to transfer to Stern. There was no one at our session that was 'referred' to GSP by Stern. It was all CAS applicants. If you applied to Stern, get accepted to GSP, and finish 2 years with 3.0, I guess you're guaranteed admission to Stern.

We didn't spend a lot of time on Stern because no one had applied.

Overall impression - Stern accepts and rejects - few referrals to GSP.
Stern prefers students to attend Stern the whole time so transferring from anywhere is tough.

getting accepted to GSP rather than CAS probably won't be the deciding factor.

Pros:
- NYU is the best school I applied for (only applied because my guidance counselor told me I had to have a reach school; never figured I'd get in)
Cons:
- 1st year sounds like high school
- you really don't get exposed to your major until junior year so it's better if you're undecided

for those of you who got into GSP very recently (within the last week).. when was your letter dated?

and did you guys get the parents/student news brochure things?

i applied to stern and was reffered to GSP...still deciding whether its worth it

jokr: How were ur stats?

My best friend went to GSP her first year and how she described made it seem a lot like my high school AP classes. But...even though that's a turn off, I think that any chance to be in one of the world's best cities is one that should be taken. I mean, it's not as if we can't take NYU courses or aren't sharing dorms with regular NYU students....This best friend of mine LOVED it, despite the GSP.

In any case, for those who were wondering: my GSP acceptance letter was dated 2/23/06.

:) I'M SO EXCITED!!! :) Isn't anyone else??

I found out about a week ago. I was actually excited to begin with...now I'm getting kinda turned off at hearing about the rap they get from the other NYU-ers. Is there anyone here who actually attends NYU (GSP or not) and do you know anything about what the attitude generally is towards GSP these days?

Thanks.

I just got my GSP acceptance today (March 15) but it was dated March 9.

I am excited that I got accepted, but I honestly dont know the real reputation of this program.

Do like the student body cards say "GSP" or "Stern" or "CAS" in relation to the school you attend or does everyone have the same cards?

Bueller - everyone has the same ID... you'll have a building sticker if you live in the dorms though

at this point, is it too late to get a gsp letter?

no its not too late.
