like seriously, i can't help but get anxious and sooo nervous. anybody else in the same boat??

You are not alone. We are still waiting to hear. DD applied EA for the Aces program, Pre-teaching. No word yet.

Same here!!

my application was complete october 17th… still no word.

Same here, application was complete october 24th, still no word. I might add tho that i know some kids in my school with very high grades and SAT scores that have also yet to hear a decision so that would lead me to believe Uconn’s admissions are totally random

^yeah i called in early december and they said admissions was random. But, I called back today explaining how I am from a public school in Connecticut where 300 applied and out of like the 75 people who have heard back i applied before any of them (oct 17) so the lady put my on hold and looked up my file and told me that I’ll have my decision tomorrow. I’m pretty sure they just throw it in random piles and I called and was a little angry so they must have just forgotten about me.

Same here… D’s application was complete Nov 3rd… and still no decision. She is getting very anxious as this is a top choice for her. Does anyone know when they are supposed to complete all of the early action notifications?

My son’s application was completed Nov 9 and no word here either. I just called admissions and they confirmed it’s random and all EA applicants should hear a decision by early February.

This wait is so frustrating, but for now, I’m going to view it as No News is Good News. At least we havent been rejected. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

My son’s status is now ‘A decision is pending, please check back in 24 hours.’ Maybe the call made a difference?

Even though the wait is torture, I’m more afraid to call and inquire. UConn is not DD first choice, it’s my first choice for her. She has already been accepted to her 1st choice, but bottomline the final choice will come down to the financial package she gets at the OS private school. Uconn is half the price and in my opinion a better choice than the OS. She says she doesn’t want to go to UConn and it’s too big for her, but I think she’s just afraid of being rejected. If she gets accepted, I know she will be thrilled and will consider it along with her first choice OS. Financially, UConn is a better choice, if she gets accepted.

Does anyone check their application status several times a day? I wonder how frequently they update?

@momE I think the call definitely makes the difference, mine didn’t change until I called. They pulled up my file, put me on hold, then said that I will find out tomorrow.

What did you guys say when you asked the admissions office to check your child’s application status? I’m just worried about calling them and asking them because I don’t want to get them mad or annoyed or anything.

I tried to be extra nice I said I know they’re extremely busy and have record numbers of applications, but UConn was my son’s first choice and since deadlines were approaching for other schools, I just wanted to check on his status at UConn before he applied to others.

btw he got into Environmental Engineering yay

@ momE CONGRATS

Still no word here! I called the Admissions office yesterday and tried being nice and using the 1st choice, deadlines approaching, etc. route, but didn’t get anywhere. They just told me they are working on getting the decisions out and to keep checking.

That was all they told me on the phone as well, but that day the status changed, so I’m not sure if the call made a difference or not. Good luck!

Still no word on D’s application. Submitted Oct 26th!!

Same, october 24th this is ridiculous, i heard from all my other schools before the holidays. I guess for some reason Uconn just takes longer than most schools
