My son is still waiting. His application was complete on October 27th 2011…this is crazy! He has friends with lesser scores that have already heard back. So far all have been accepted except some were not Storrs.

still waiting! november 18th completion date. anyone know when the latest we’ll hear is?

One son has been waiting since October 14. 3.61 uw some honors and AP. In state top high school. 1740 sat which isn’t too bad. Applied to biz school. Has gotten scholarships from u Albany, u Scranton, and admission to Miami of Ohio – all three biz schools. Lots of EC and sports. NHS. Part time job for 1.5 years at same place. No word from uconn.

My D’s application was complete Nov. 3rd… and we still have not heard. We emailed admissions and they said that all early action applicants should hear back by mid February, so hopefully the wait will be over soon. She applied for Animal Science and has already been accepted to UMass, URI, and UVM… but REALLY wants to go to UConn.

My Son Have a GPA 3.2
SAT 1850
Math 680
CR 580

And Extra curr. Activity lot

AP 2 sub
Honors 3
Apply for Computer Information

Till no answer UCONN

I believe the bar is higher in the business school. My son was accepted into the business school with a similar GPA and an SAT score 250+ points higher (elected another school, my daughers a junior at UCONN). One of my sons best friends with a similar GPA and a 1850 SAT was accepted to the Stamford campus. Good luck

One of my young friends applied way back in October and just heard that she was accepted. She tells me that many of her classmates are still waiting. They are at a public school in western Connecticut.

I’m really happy for her because she is a great kid. She wants Cornell but the finances may be an issue.

Still waiting. Applied on 10/27 Storrs campus. Anybody else still waiting? If they say by mid-February then there is only a week to go. I hope they aren’t just going to decline everyone at the end and they were just waiting to do it.

D received email inviting her to Open house for admitted students then 2 hours later email stating it was an error. Today status changed to Rejected.

That is horrible Isb312!!! I am not very impressed with UCONN at this point. S has already decided he is most likely going to go somewhere else. It shouldn’t take this long to hear back and it could hurt his chances to get housing elsewhere if he continues to wait.

MOMCT68, yes disappointing, after the Vassar debacle you would think colleges would get on the ball with sending emails to the intended recipient . Oh well, good luck to your son, hope you hear positive news soon.

I got rejected

Sorry about that Boxertough2012. S just checked the portal and it now says decision pending, check back in 24 hours.

mamomoftwo - My daughter was accepted out of state on Jan. 28th, after submitting her application in late November. She is also an animal science major and has been accepted to UVM & Rutgers with merit scholarships. We have not heard anything on scholarships from UCONN yet but when I called yesterday, I was told that the college of agriculture & natural resources has their own scholarships that are given out in March/April. Can anyone confirm this for us?

S applied for Storrs campus majoring in Natural Resources:

GPA 3.6
SAT 1870
Math 610
CR 600

Part-time job, 4 years track, 3 years cross country, DECA club, Ski club, Writing lab tutor

He was just “accepted” but to Hartford campus. Not going. Glad we already put down deposit at another school.

Uconn does scan apps. My children were accepted in mid to late December. I think your HS rating is also a very important factor thats not being discussed. If you have a 3.2 GPA in a soso HS and less then 1800 SAT you will wait longer for an acceptance or get a quick rejection. I suggest looking in Naviance’s graph function as the tool to determine your chances. I believe that a 3.3 or above and above 1800 in my kids HS were 100 percent acceptance for over 100 students.

Still waiting for EA decision… anyone else?

We seem to have a new message on the Uconn student admin page. It says: this application is complete (it’s been complete since mid October). Then it says:

Information on your application is currently unavailable. Please check the Student Center, after the next business day, for updates to your application status. We apologize for this inconvenience.

This isn’t exactly the 24 hour status message others have gotten. Anyone else get this? Then what happened? He got into TCNJ for BS in Econ yesterday.

My son applied EA and still nothing. He’s heard from all other colleges at this point and he wants to make some decisions. I may have him call on Friday if still nothing.
