Has Anybody Tried To Log onto the 'admitted students' page?

http://snowbird.barnard.edu/pls/bcapp/admission_spring_events.input_cid

i tried last week, im too nervous to try again. but it could still be too early for these kind of things.

I tried and couldn't log in...

how do you know what your password is? was it e-mailed?

it's the same one they emailed to you to track your application

they never emailed me anything to track my application... i sent mine in the mail with a check and submitted my commonapp online. it says they downloaded my common app and i did do an interview in december before i had sumbitted anything. i requested it. should i be worried?

I e-mailed the webmaster, because I couldn't login either. We'll see.

Laura --

The Admitted Students website and online RSVPs for spring events will go live on Tuesday, March 27.

Best regards,
Florrie Brafman

i called and the guy said they dont give out decisions online.

^^^ well yeah, i know. the site that link goes to is for admitted barnard students. there they post announcements about events and such for barnard students, and if anyone was able to log in, one would assume they've been admitted. i know they don't give decisions out online.

mystery, how do you know that?
if true - and if letters are sent march 26... this would be our first way of knowing we're admitted, right?

That was a copied-pasted e-mail response I got from help@barnard.edu.

it's got a new look. along with a message stating when it'll go live.

I am pretty sure you all will get your real letters before this admitted students thing goes live.

That would make perfect sense. But if they mailed them out today, they would have to be overnighted to some locations for that to happen. And what about acceptance vs. rejection and w/l letters? Don't the latter go via slower postal service?

Confusing!

Good luck to everyone from a mom with d also waiting

THe acceptances are sent out via two-day express mail, I believe (so look for them on Wed, I guess). Other letters are sent via regular mail. So the website going live on Wed. makes sense....

I just know two years ago we would have done ANYTHING to get some early idea and the admitted students thing was not available ealier....

Well, the woman told me Tuesday, and that's what the site says. I highly doubt they'd wait until Wednesday when they've got "Tuesday" in big, bold, red letters.

I think they said Tuesday because people will start to receive the letters tomorrow, so girls can login as they hear, rather than wait for everyone to know first (and honestly... how are they going to know once that's over?). For ED, some girls found out on the 15th, and most heard the 16th and 18th, when the letters were postmarked on the 14th. So once it's applicable -- that is, the day after they send the letters out -- they'll let girls log in.

If you don't want to know early, don't..?

i am almost willing to stay up until midnight, but somehow i doubt the website will be functioning then

Hmm...I have tons of homework that I haven't started so I may just happen to be up at midnight...But it seems unlikely that it will be live by then so maybe I should wait until tomorrow.

I'm going to go crazy if it doesn't let me in. It's kind of a harsh way of finding out.

will somebody tell us if the website is up at midnight? i am too afraid to check

Sounds like I was wrong about the Wednesday thing, but I would be willing to say that I would NOT expect someone to be by a computer ready to push a button (or whatever) at midnight. Get some sleep (or go read a good book to try to relax).
