My DD14 is looking to apply to this summer program....has anyone attended? We live in CT and would like to know if the program is good enough to travel such a great distance. I haven't seen too much discussion about this one here on CC. Thanks! Any information/advice you can offer would be great!

I looked at EPGY last summer when I was searching for programs, but found it to be a little pricey. If you live in CT, I would definitely recommend Summer@Brown. It was such a great experience and definitely the best two weeks of my life :)

I went for two summers. They have good classes that are very interesting. You learn a good amount and I think everyone I know who went enjoyed it. In addition, it is a very fun program. You spend most of the morning/early afternoon working but then you have a lot of freetime/organized activities in the evenings and during the weekends. Skidd13 is right though, it is fairly pricey.

Two of my friends have attended EPGY - one during summer 2010 and the other during summer 2011. Both agreed that it was a little on the expensive side but that it was very educational and a good experience. (One of my friends participated in the archaeology course, which confirmed her career interest in the field and led her to apply for archaeology/anthropology programs for college.)

The Stanford campus is also certainly one of the most unique and picturesque college environments in the U.S., if that matters to you.

I think EPGY is a good summer program for slightly younger (freshman/sophomore) students, who can find more intensive (e.g., research) opportunities in their later summers.

Yayayaya! ^Thanks for the comment. A lot of people say it’s not worth it but financial aid definitely helps and I’m sure if EPGY is taught by Stanford professors, it would surely be worth it. I applied to Artificial Intelligence and am going to be notified of the results on the 22nd! I hope I do make it. I’m really excited.

I just applied to EPGY as well after receiving the letter. How hard is to be accepted into the program? So far from what I hear it seems to be pretty fun. Also, are most of the students from California and the surrounding area, I live in MN and not a lot of students here know about the Program.

I have too applied for EPGY Mathematics and Physics High School Program. My application is complete including $45. I live in India, just too far from Stanford. They have given me May 2 as the status check date. I am full of excitement. I hope I am selected.
