Has anyone AVERAGE ever gotten into Yale?

^^The only person bringing up Al Gore in this discussion is you. And neither is anyone calling GW Bush an idiot. What several have called him in answer to the OP's question is "average" - an average student who got into Yale no doubt thanks in part to his family wealth, his multi-generational Yale legacy status, and his multi-generational prominent political connections. That's a pretty powerful combination in the world of Ivy admissions.

They didn't call GWB an idiot, but they said he was "below average ;) " and a fool...same difference...

The only reason I brought up Al Gore is b/c people always say Bush IS an idiot/fool/uneducated/got into Yale b/c of dad but practically flunked out there...BS...

I was just showing that, while being a legacy always helps, it's not like he couldn't hold his own at the school intellectually...and most people who hate Bush love Al Gore. It was just for argument's sake...

Yale needs also" just "average students( a little little %)

CoffeeAdict is right.

Admitted with a few Cs and even two Fs, but had to explain it away (this was for graduate school, though).

Average in my mind is 3.5 and higher with ap's and honors, not 3.0-3.5 with 1-3 ap's even a urm, great ec's and great essay won't get in.
