What several have called him in answer to the OP's question is "average" - an average student who got into Yale no doubt thanks in part to his family wealth, his multi-generational Yale legacy status, and his multi-generational prominent political connections. That's a pretty powerful combination in the world of Ivy admissions.</p>

<p>Admitted with a few Cs and even two Fs, but had to explain it away (this was for graduate school, though).</p>
<p>Average in my mind is 3.5 and higher with ap's and honors, not 3.0-3.5 with 1-3 ap's even a urm, great ec's and great essay won't get in.</p>
