stressy: it does not mean you got in. you need to send in the financial aid forms for all the csu’s.

Orangexpen, I haven’t gotten in to CSULB yet… STILL waiting :/

Asagi, what is your major? I’m at LBCC too.

@stressy

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m assuming my transcripts were received because they disappeared from my check list. I also got an email requesting financial aid documents.

This is what it says on a prior app status report:

“Financial aid information:
We have received your application for Financial Aid (FAFSA). Please be aware that we can only continue to consider your application for financial aid if you are offered admission to the University.”

I can see why you’re confused because why would we get an email stating that they need more documents to process our financial aid when technically we aren’t accepted yet? Makes no sense. Hopefully we get accepted, though.

correct me if im wrong but im assuming all of us that are continuing to wait are transfers???

i would say you are correct. freshman should be 100% done now.

Yeah I’m a transfer and I’m still waiting. Major: Business

Still nothing for any psych majors at my CC! Hopefully spring break will get my mind off of waiting! Am I the only one who checks the site like 10 times a day? hahaha :D

I’m a transfer student. I got accepted as a psych major for fall 2012! :)

@ Elite Toast - Oh right, I just find it odd. The UCs first accept/reject and then ask you about financial aid. At least that’s how it’s been with UCR and UCSC so far. It must be different for CSUs.

@Bearika - Exactly! Glad I’m not alone. Good luck to you. :)

I’m a transfer student too btw.

Congrats to you California!

I’m like totally stressing over Long Beach. This is going to be one slow month 'cause May 1st is when I’ll be getting my answer. I forgot all about applying to Fullerton and I just sent my transcripts yesterday, hopefully that doesn’t cause problems but I don’t care 'cause Fullerton is my #5 and Long Beach is my # 1. Did any of your CC counselors tell you that you wouldn’t get into Long Beach? Mine did.

california1991, what was your GPA? Oh i’m so excited, I should be notified like any time now then!! I’m also a psych major, I applied for transfer with a 3.75. :D

Thanks! I applied with a 3.84 GPA. I heard that its hard to get into Long Beach, so I’m very glad I got accepted. Good luck to everyone! :-)

Sorry my mistake, I applied with a 3.79 GPA, but by the time I made it to the final round I was asked to send my transcript in which I now have a 3.84 GPA. There’s a good chance you’ll get in! :-)

hey california, when did u get your acceptance letter? And CONGRATS on your admission! May I ask which CC you attend? Some of my friends who attends LBCC got into CSULB a month ago… i think this is because they are close to CSULB. Correct me if im wrong.

I haven’t gotten the letter, but I checked my admission status which says I’ve been accepted. This just changed a couple days ago, so I assume that’s why I haven’t received anything.
I don’t live near or at Long Beach. In fact, Long Beach is a couple of cities from me. I have heard of universities taking a lot more local students than others. This wasn’t the case for me.

California, psychology is an impacted major. When a major is impacted, the schools don’t favor the local students. Everyone in the state is on equal ground… Congrats on getting in, I am expecting since we had similar GPAs that I SHOULD get in! :D

hey california, did they ask u to turn in additional documents for financial aid? If yes, before u got accepted or after?

Annabel, thanks!
I hope you get in as well!

Funt, I was never asked to turn in additional financial aid documents.

Just a reminder that incoming freshman can sign up for a SOAR date today!
