It looks like my transcripts are still being processed. Hopefully us transfers will hear something soon.

coll234: I am sure you transfers will be accepted soon but I heard that transfers are accepted after freshman applicants but I’m not sure if that is exactly true.

I keep overhearing how a variety of people are getting rejected and accepted into CSULB. I still don’t know where I stand from this point.

So has anyone else here been accepted anywhere else while they await for CSULB???

Accepted! Pre-Nursing major GPA 3.95 and ACT 28
Also accepted to SDSU but I’m still waiting for CSUF…

Okay so. When I posted this thread, I didn’t know my admission status.
But I know now. I found out last night.
I’ve been rejected.
3.4 CSU GPA
1770 out of 2400 SAT
1170 out of 1600 SAT
25 ACT

A large handful of kids at my school have been rejected, but a few have been accepted. It seems quite random actually because the stats are ALL over the place.
If it helps anyone, I live in NorCal.

Good luck!!!

Oh and, I’ve already been accepted to SFSU, Stan State, University of the Pacific, Washington State, and University of Arizona.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. :)

californiangal: Congrats on your acceptance!!! Are you from SoCal??? Did SDSU send you an email or did you check your status on your portal? I was accepted into CSUF so I am most definitely positive that you have a great chance of getting in since you were already accepted into two other great schools. :)

tatiana1190: I’m sorry about CSULB.
I hate to think that someone with a 3.4 got rejected, the thought actually makes me nervous about my odds for acceptance. Congrats for the other good colleges that you were accepted into. Which college is your top choice and what do you plan to major in?

You guys will get your notifications soon enough. Just TRY to wait impatient in the meantime. :P

If you guys have any question about CSULB, post at the CSULB forum or just message me. Good luck everyone!

The Power of One: Thanks. I had a question for you. Did you ever go to CSULB? If so can you tell me how life is on campus: did you have interesting classes, was it a comfortable setting and transition from home life to college, where did you dorm, did you meet fun people and make awesome friends? Can you please tell me what g.p.a you were accepted with and your SAT score. I’m a nervous wreck as you can see but the wait is honestly making me restless. I’ve never been so scared and numb in my whole life!!! :)

Coll234: did you already move into the next round - after their initial review?

@tatiana: damn then I most definitely am not getting in. They’re still processing my application though.

Oh also @tatiana what major did you apply for?

My daughter got an acceptance email last Friday, too! 4.21 GPA, 33 ACT, 720 Math/710 Reading SAT…now we are waiting to see about the President’s Scholarship. Keeping our fingers crossed big time!

I called them today… They said they are STILL sending out letters, both acceptance and rejection, for transfers and freshmen up until next week or even later! so keep your fingers crossed!

Yet again, another friend of mine got a rejection letter sent to her email two days ago. She had a 3.0…
I feel like I have a 50/50 chance of getting in since I’m between the g.p.a of those getting rejected and those getting accepted.
I still haven’t heard anything yet, has anyone else heard any news???

@4b1a5y: Yes. In the letter it states Im being considered for the final round of admissions. My transcripts have already been processed and now I’m awaiting a decision. Are you a transfer too?

@coll234: yes! I haven’t received any acceptance or rejection letter yet… It’s getting kind of nerve racking. Do you know any other transfers who made it to final round?

@4b1a5y: Boy do I understand that feeling I’m still anxiously waiting on SJSU and CSUF too. I know of one person who is also being considered for the final round, but unfortunately I haven’t heard of any transfers getting accepted just yet.

@coll234: im sure you got into those schools especially since you made it to the final round @ long beach! Congrats by the way!!

For the people who’ve entered the final round, how were you informed that you were in the final round? When I checked my application status online, all it said that I fulfilled the CSU requirements and will be in the competitive round.
Did they email you about your transcripts or was it because you are transferring???
I haven’t heard any good news yet but since I’m neither accepted or rejected, I’m just patiently waiting. :)

@4b1a5y: Thanks, but it’s too early to start celebrating. Good luck on your applications :)

@Rocky Horror: This is the email I got that requested my transcripts. I hope this helps:

Subject Line: “CSULB - Documents Required”
Body: “I am pleased to invite you to be considered in the final round of admission consideration for Fall 2012. Please see the attached letter for more details, as well as a list of documents which must be received by March 9, 2012 for you to continue to be considered for admission.”

This is what the letter contained:
“Thank you for applying to California State University, Long Beach. We have completed an initial review of your application for Fall 2012. Because it appears you are on track to complete the minimum CSU transfer admission requirements, your application was considered in the initial competitive admission round. Final round consideration will include a thorough review of transcripts of all college work. As a result, we must receive the documents listed at the bottom of this letter by March 9, 2012 for you to continue to be considered for admission.”
