When i mentioned that the $400 for housing was refundable earlier, I made a mistake. It is not refundable. I misread a couple things before. My apologies for any confusion.

Are people just being overly pessimistic in regards to the amount of credits we will be able to take in our first semester, or is the SOAR page lying to our faces?

No, according to the registration dates on the site, on everyone’s personal registration dates (continuing, new and transfer) you can register for up to 13 units. Then, theres a date in mid-late august where EVERYONE’s registration block goes away and it’s a free-for-all to register for up to 3 more units (16 total/max). It won’t be too bad for transfers considering we don’t need the cattle-call like general ed classes the underclassmen need, but if your major is impacted, it might be difficult to get your major classes.

Is anyone else here excited about rascoe’s chicken and waffles? I live like 25 minutes away with no traffic on the 22 west. So being near a rascoe’s is going to have some tasty results

Hi hope they send out more admission letters today, I wanna know if I got in!

bosco, hahah Roscoe’s is awesome! But the only problem is it is ALWAYS busy! I mean ALWAYS. Every time I’ve tried to eat there the wait was ridiculous. I used to live walking distance from there.
I live in OC too, so it will be nice when the 7th st bridge is open again!

Mono, I don’t think the SOAR page is lying to us, but you never know. You should be able to get classes, they just may not be your first picks or the times you really want. I hope I can keep mine close together since I’ll be living 25 minutes away (by freeway) from campus. Plus I would like to have a job too. I was kind of insulted that they only offered $2500 for the whole year in work study. My ccc offered me double that for a year! I MIGHT accept it if I can’t find anything that will work with my schedule because its better than nothing.

Basco,
How far is Roscoes from CSULB? I take it that you’ve been visiting the campus, right? What else is there in terms of eateries/things to do? BTW, what’s your major?

Hi, I’ve been monitoring this forum for about three months now and I’ve seen many students progress in the transfer process. Congrats to everyone’s admission to CSULB. Unfortunately, I am STILL waiting for a decision and it is driving me crazy. May 1 is nearby and it’s the deadline for other university to accept admissions. My major is Health Care Administration, and I’ve seen only one user who got in. I don’t know what to expect anymore because it’s only a week and some days left before they are supposed to give out decisions.

GPA is 3.6
I’m transferring from San Diego County but I live in LA.

Extrema, I feel the same way. I need to know so I can plan things out plus the other school I got in wants me to decide by may 1st. I hope that decisions will be made by tomorrow

I know I feel like I’ve been checking the status too much lol. I really hope they send out decisions by the end of this week. I just want to know if I got accepted or not. There are so many things to think about right after May 1. Good luck to us! :)

Lol me too, I check my status like 4 times a day. Make sure you post in here as soon as you hear anything

I never visited the campus but I used to find myself going to long beach for concerts and Rasco’s. Rascoe’s is near by and so is the queen Mary ship. That’s kinda cool. But
I have passed by the campus through 7th street but there’s major construction right now.

My major is geography

I also heard that theres a lot of boats that can take you to Catalina island. Its not far from long beach. There’s plenty of time to explore! There’s also the aquarium and downtown long beach. It seems like a bigger city than my rural Santa Ana

I am in the same boat, I have not heard back from csulb. I called in about a week ago and asked why some people have been admitted and others haven’t heard anything. The lady told me that the people they know for sure that they will admit have been notified. However, they are going through the budget and deciding how many more students they can admit. So the people that haven’t heard anything are still being considered. They are just unsure the budget will allow their enrollment.

I personally have kind of lost hope because I think that the budget is always less than what they expect. I have just assumed at this point that I will be rejected.

@akraintc

That’s not necessarily true. It also depends on your major. I know that nursing hasn’t sent out any letters to transfers yet because there simply are too many applicants. I called admissions and they said some majors take a little longer to send out decisions than others. So keep your head up. I am!! I’m still waiting as well (nursing major). Whats your major?

Oh and admissions also said that we should know by May 1st. That’s next Tuesday so I think we should hear something within the week for real this time lol.

@Basco: dont forget about the long beach grand prix each year in april!! been going for 6 or 7 years now. there are some awesome events in long beach. In fact all year long you will see the curbing and tire marks from the race circuit. basically put, you shouldnt ever be bored in long beach!

Admitted students who can view their financial aid… how are you guys accessing it. Are you doing to myCSULB and clicking on ‘view financial aid’ then clicking on the aid year?

I feel like the closer we get to may 1st the chances of me getting rejected increase

@keef: that’s what I did
