Has anyone been accepted to CSULB for Fall 2012 yet?

I’m not a transfer student, but I’m having the same problem as well. My Cal Grant has been saying “Awaiting Processing” for months.

Rain: I found out about my award until after I got accepted and was enrolled into the school. So maybe ull have to wait. The school has all.of that info for you.

symartinez, my status still says that too! I did some looking around online yesterday and there was some talk about drastically cutting the cal-grants for 2012-13. I think that maybe why they haven’t been processed yet. And the article I read on it also said that they may still give us the award and then find out they’ve been revoked.

So for those of you who are expecting a cal-grant, if we don’t get it, we will still get the university grant. So don’t worry too much, it’s pretty much the same amount.

Like all of you guys, I’m also worrying about financial aid.
I check everyday to see if my award has been processed–but nothing!
Granted, the delay is sort of my fault…I didn’t send the requested financial aid documents until after I got accepted. So yeah…
It seems like there has been consistenly one worry after another!
I guess we should take it easy though. We’re in. And we sort of need these diversions (anxiety) to keep us entertained until the semester comes…the first day of classes seems so far away, though…
Besides worrying about financial aid, what are the rest of you guys doing to keep yourselves entertained?

I just got the Financial Aid email from CSULB letting me know my Award was available and it isn’t showing a Cal Grant. I received 3 grants however I really don’t want to take out $9,000 in loans like the award letter is suggesting -_-. Hopefully they process those babies soon. I’m calling the CSAC office tomorrow morning to see what they say.

@orangeapple76: I’m keeping myself preoccupied by “Planning” my fall semester schedule. I already have a potential schedule, so I’m hoping those classes are still open by my SOAR date. I listed the classes I need for my major, then researched professors on (ratemyprofessors dot com) and came up with a pretty decent looking schedule. I also looked over the textbooks the professors require for their class, so I can get a sense of how much money I need to put aside for textbooks. Oh, I’m also looking at dorm bedding and stuff. Pretty exciting haha

Symartinez,

I see… You’re certainly a productive lady.
Lets cross our fingers and hope that we’re able to get some classes through.
I take it that you’re going to dorm it, no? How much is it for room and board anyway? I dormed it once…at my previous college…it was fun, but as a consequence I have a substantial loan (nine grand) to pay. :stuck_out_tongue:
Did your financial aid cover all of your tuition?

Just got my award letter guys! Check your financial aid status you might have it by now!

I still haven’t heard from CSULB.

Yeppers I received my financial aid award letter today as well

@adfugal: Do you mean they still haven’t given you an admission decision yet? That’s nuts…maybe you can call them to see what’s taking so long. If you haven’t been denied or waitlisted yet, I would think that would be an encouraging sign :)

By receiving “letter” do you guys actually mean a physical letter? Like in the mailbox and all?
he he he. I haven’t received an actual (physical) letter from CSULB since I first applied.
Everything is emailed to me. They didn’t even mail me my acceptance letter. That’s kind of sad, now that I think about it.

Orange: I’m with u, I would feel more speacial if something was actually mailed to me instead of emailed.

adfugal, call the school tomorrow first thing in the morning! That could be a good sign that you haven’t heard from them! Still the same status on your application when you check?

And yes sadly, all letters today are electronic, not unless you want coupons or grocery mailings lol, supposedly to save trees! :p

@Extrema
The same status. I thought will call them tomorrow to see what’s going on. I am very positive that I’ll be accepted.
Major: nutrition & dietetics
GPA: 3.6

Yeah, I am going to live on campus. Its about $10,300 ish for a double room. I have most of it covered, might have to take out a $4000 loan if Cal Grant doesn’t follow through.

Does anyone know how much it is for a single room?

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

HoneyFlower,

You appealed your decision and got in recently, right? I bet you’re feeling lucky. Congrats!
I take it that you already received your financial aid award notification, right?
It seems like they process the financial aid without any particular order…
Hm…

Single rooms are $1,000 more than a regular double. So depending on the meal plan you choose $11,200-$11,650 give or take.

I received my financial aid award today as well!

Another thing, I still need to take a history class as part of the csu requirement for the igetc. I have not taken it yet but I will be during the summer. Problem is, CSULB needs my transcript by 7/15. Summer school doesn’t end until 7/26. Will these prevent me from attending CSULB? Or should I talk to an admission officer about it?

lucky pcast
i remember you posted earlier today about not receiving your award yet…
i checked mine…nothing yet
what kind of automaton do they have working on sundays anyway!?
Of all days–a sunday! that’s the last day that I’d think they’d update anything…

Pcast- that class should have been done before summer. Summer courses do not count towards granting admission for fall. I would talk to someone in admissions because if you wrongly marked that then it could possibly complicate things with your admission for for fall if it were a golden four requirement.
