What I think is happening is that they probably already offered a certain number of slots to people who submitted their applications early and are now scrambling to try to fit the other applicants who applied later into the remaining slots.

Sweshie - I think your right. My son has friends who were accepted undeclared in dec. with lower SAT and or GPAs then his. He applied for Comp Eng. which he new would be a long shot but figured that they would then accept him as undeclared. But with so many applicants and many undeclared accepted right away I think slots were filled and he got left out. We should have applied undeclared. Just a thought because it doesnt make sense if they are using mostly the index to accept people he had a higher index then 2 of his friends and they got in and he didnt. He is upset and hoping he gets into one of the UC’s he applied to. Good luck to all!

I was denied yesterday. I have a 4.18 w 4.06 unweighted GPA. ACT 29, 4 years varsity basketball, President of my NCL senior class, Presidential Service Award, President of the ski and board club. I am from California. I applied with major in biology.

4.06 unweighed? Hope you didn’t put that on your application :

My son applied on Nov. 16th and was admitted on Dec. 20th so I’m not sure it has anything to do with applying early. The letter says…

“Because of your excellent academic record, you are among a very select group of freshman receiving early notification of admission to SDSU.”

@basktballmom I got the same letter on december 20th. I agree, the day you submitted your app has no association with the day you’ll receiver your admissions decision. Good luck to all those still waiting!

Application status has still not changed…nothing has been looked at or anything…:/

I just found out I was accepted yesterday (for Sociology MA). I will not be attending though. Also, nothing changed on the portal yet, which I thought was odd.

Am I supposed to get an acceptance letter from the school? I was accepted in February but I never got my letter. Anyone else?

Has any nursing majors heard back from sdsu yet? This question is open to transfers as well. Are there any transfers who is still waiting to here from SDSU?

I was accepted in February for Fall 2012 and I applied October 2011.

GPA: 3.8
Major: Anthropology
Transfer institution: Santa Rosa Junior College
SAT/ACT: Scores were not give on my app as they don’t matter for transfer students

High School GPA (weighted, not including freshman year ect.): 3.0

ACT: 29

Ethnicity: White

SAT: 1840

Major: Undeclared.

I applied last fall and was unsurprisingly rejected, however SDSU was my number one school so I decided to put and appeal together. Since the beginning of Summer 2011, I’ve taken 7 college classes for a total of 22 credits (and go A’s in all of them, making my current college GPA a 4.0) so I mentioned that and included documentation. I also wrote a sob-story essay of my (legitimate) life struggles and hardships. I found out yesterday that my appeal was granted. I couldn’t believe it. It still hasn’t hit me.

@ Oligator! Dude… that’s awesome! Congratulations! :D

Can i get accepted with bad grades? i have a 3.13 gpa and only 3 honors (taking ap physics and precal next year though), but i scored a 1350/2040 on SAT first try and im taking again in fall to try and break 2100…
i didnt really apply my self in school at all and im kinda regretting not cause i want to get into a good school somewhere nice.
