"I write to provide you a status report on our wait list situation. As of today, it appears that we will not be able to offer any additional places in Bucknell’s Class of 2013 to students on our wait list for the next few weeks. The current commitments we have received meet our enrollment goals; to date we have been able to offer only a few positions to students on our wait list. We are aware, however, that wait list activity at other institutions may impact our current numbers. We are prepared to make a definite statement about the status of our wait list by mid-June.

If you wish to remain on Bucknell’s wait list:
We realize that you are presently making alternative plans. However, if your interest in Bucknell remains high and you wish to remain on our wait list for the next few weeks, please visit our website at [Class of 2013 Wait List || Bucknell University](http://www.bucknell.edu/waitlist) to reconfirm your interest.

If you no longer wish to remain on Bucknell’s wait list:
If you no longer wish to hold a position on our wait list, please visit [Class of 2013 Wait List || Bucknell University](http://www.bucknell.edu/waitlist) to indicate that your plans to attend another institution.

Thank you for your patience with this process."

I followed the link and immediately told them to save my name on their waitlist. At least they didn’t say give it up, you’ve got NO chance at all.

I have a feeling that Bucknell is taking a “waitlist temperature” from those still out there. This email will give them a good idea about who is serious about Bucknell so they don’t waste their time calling kids who perhaps have made other choices. SO…my thought is that this is a very good thing for those of you still waiting. I hope for your sake my gut feeling is right!

swissmiss3-- I have to say as a Bucknell parent and alumni, I wish you were admitted. I would love it if the admissions staff would read these blogs and know who you are. You would be an asset to Bucknell. Good luck wherever you go!

Thanks, morrismm. I wish YOU were on their adcom! Those people are probably so super busy they couldn’t spend time site even if they wanted to. Thank you for your encouraging comments. If I could have gone to my dream school, my absolute favorite, it would have been Cornell. I got rejected. Move on, get over it. Bucknell comes next. Even if they don’t pick me, there are some blessings that came from being waitlisted at Bucknell:
*their band director tried very hard to get me in
*lots of CC posters went out of their way to keep my spirits up
*waitlisted felt a WHOLE lot better than outright rejection
So I think I have a lot to be thankful for.

keep hope swissmiss
and you never know what those admissions counselors see and what they don’t see! i have a feeling they watch these blogs more than we think they do.

Thank you, God!
Thank you, Bucknell Admissions!
Thank you, Bucknell’s awesome pep band director, Dr. Phil Haynes!

And even though their financial aid is wiped out for freshman year, Bucknell reevaluates their students’ situations every year, so I can hope for financial aid the following three years. Praise God!! :)

Thanks to all you CCers who kept my waitlist hope alive. You’re an AMAZING bunch of people and I wish I could meet you all! :)

I’m so happy for you - karma comes through again. Bucknell is VERY fortunate to have you (though it shouldn’t have taken them this long to recognize that). While this year will be tough financially, I’m glad they (unlike W&L) will revisit your situation in future years.

Between the band director and (a sneaky suspicion of mine) possibly somebody lurking on CC, you’re right to be thankful for this opportunity. Remember your good fortune when things get tough and make the most of it!

I am happy for you too, and even tho I am in the same boat, I feel like maybe you needed it more than me- even tho I really want Bucknell - which was why I did ED, I am starting to think my second choice will be a good place for me - for a lot less debt. But this made my day just knowing you are truly where you wanted to be. That PEP band will have aLOT of PEP!!

I am wondering if someone on this post is on the inside like a previos post suggested ?!?!
